Re: Recommendations after Virus Ti

hey all I'm looking for some ideas for potential replacement of my Virus Ti. Whilst I love the Virus I do sometimes feel its starting to sound a little dated and that it might be time to part with it. I'm looking for the following kind of feature-set - a synth that has FAT analogue sounds (I know t...

Behringer FCB1010 question.

I would think its possible. But can I assign one of the expression pedals to another midi channel? Why? I have an eleven rack and I want most of the function of the pedal board for the 11r, and use the expression pedal for a whammy pedal with a midi in (pitch adjustment, using 11r fx on/off to creat...

Re: I'm getting a Machinedrum UW, is the Drive or TM-1 worth

Pretty set on a Machinedrum UW mkii. Is the +Drive worth it? Is the TM-1 worth it (with or without the +Drive)? A lot of the ones I'm seeing on eBay don't come with these (and go for a bit cheaper...) thanks m8s Bonus question if you like: I already have a Roland S760 that I don't use much... is th...

Re: Recieved broken synth in the mail, what to do???

In the name of schadenfreude, I find this remarkably entertaining...

Some parcel handlers suck in the fact they're extremely rough with the items they drop off. I live in a place where I dread anything delivered by UPS. Its going to be broken in some way when I open it.

Re: Looking for a good 'Voice' FM synth

As to what synths they're using, I always thought of Electric Cafe being: a New England Digital Synclavier, a E-mu Emulator and a Linn Electronics LM-1, a little talking TI translator thingy and a gigantic vocoder rack. I might be wrong on that but its what I think KW were using back then. I always ...

Re: Spring reverbs (vermona vs ekdahl)

Edkahl I think would be a more "fun" choice. everything's exposed and you have a few more options on adding sound into your setup, for a strait up9 instrument effect the Vermona isn't that bad of an idea, but I've never liked the idea of a "safe crash" on spring reverb, I was more of a "tap the corn...

Machine drum midi question.

Can a machine drum play both its native patches polyphonic and control something in multiple channels in poly also? (like sequencing a keyboard in polyphonic with the machine drum providing drums?) or is it like a EMX-1 where it can play play each channel monophonically? I read that it can play its ...

K&M Spider pro VS Ultimate Support APEX AX-48

Okay, I've got this three tier stand thats pretty loaded up, but I want a 2 tier for travel and to help spread my synthesized wealth of my studio. I like both designs, and I've read great reviews about both stands. Its intended use would be fore studio and gigging. Pros for the K&M: Since my studio ...

Re: Synth to buy as an incentive to not buy synths

What do you guys think about the Virus TI? I realize not as much is available in the way of samples/sample mangling, but I'm not flipping the Juno-D or the ESX1 for this so would it be a good investment over the "synth" samples of the Juno-D (as opposed to the Kronos or V-synth)? If I was forced to...

Re: Arturia: The New Generation

After I upgraded I was thinking of trying to get something with multiple inputs so I could sequence my hardware. I'm waiting for one of those new iMacs. Since you have the internet at your fingertips, research whats out there. I like MOTU a lot as far as what the Interface provides, and you may fin...

Re: Arturia: The New Generation

What is the "safe" assumption for what computer everyone has? It pends the person, some have a commodore 64 as they have no use for anything current, others like myself meet their studio needs of the modern age with a okay proc (Low end i7) and use a DSP based audio interface to take the load off t...
