I guess a full PPG Wave system w/Waveterm wasn't really cheap either. Nor was the Audioframe 1000 sampler/digital workstation by Waveframe (1987). The price was $45,590 for a basic system and $250,000 for a fully loaded one. It was used by Peter Gabriel (The Last temptation of christ, 1989) Stevie ...

Akai S5000/S6000 have multiple outs, are really simple to use, and support USB with a add on card.

Most rack samplers support multiple outs, some have more outputs than others...

Sure, I use it for just about everything but it excels at synth washes and strange noises. Reverbs are all good, chorus is OK, great delays. Certainly better than anything else I've owned: spx90, LXP1/5, dep-5, a4000, ddx3216 and other assorted lowend effects stuff. I've used the DP4, it sounded alr...

I've owned a lot of these over the years and if things are acting weird most times replacing the battery has fixed it for me. I've never had issues with the pitch bend but it wouldn't surprise me if it fixes itself when you change the battery out.

+1 on the DP/Pro. I have two of them and while the editing/menu system is a drag they sound fantastic.

Other=Emax
Ease of use, built-in digital synth features on the SE version, better dsp that the sp1200 and that great crunchy e-mu sound. Still cheap.

I wasn't too impressed by the Fairlight IIx cd, there are some wierd artifacts in the samples that sound awful when you start transposing, of course you're sampling into a P2k so it might mask the problems that I heard. I've found JJ Jeczalik's Art of Sampling CD to be better. I think it's mostly se...

I had a Sequential Split-8 and a Kawai sx240 (not at the same time) The sx240 was pretty cool but I kinda miss the Split-8, I really liked the feature of being able to temporarily switch patches by holding down the footswitch and instantly changing back by releasing it. Man I wish other manufacturer...
