Re: boss micro processors

RGE-10 Graphic EQ
RPQ-10 Preamp ParaEq
RPW-7 Power Supply
bossarea.com - good descriptions.

I have 2 RPH-10s, an RCL-10, and my guitarist friend has an RCE-10. I love 'em! The modulation is a bit "grainy" at higher rates on the RCE-10 for me. My friend finds uses for it, though :) .

Re: anyone have a linndrum?

I have mine synced via the clock output of my Kenton box, which gets midi sync from my DAW. only way i can get my 909 to send the linndrum start/stop/tempo is running one of the 909's instrument outputs w/ hits on every step to the linndrum's SYNC IN. I do love this(and the audio triggering) :) , bu...

Re: Your first recording Sessions with Synths . . .

Why did you have to remind me #-o?

My very first tapes (mid 80s), I didn't even bother. Drum machine on the left channel, synth on the right of a Fisher all-in-one stereo. Thankfully, I only had 1 of each.

Re: anyone have a linndrum?

Dur! Rechecked this because I remembered I did what you're talking about just a few weeks ago. The individual outputs are not controlled by the mixer section and master volume. Therefore, you can do what you were talking about. Just turn down the volume sliders for the sounds that you want to use so...

Re: anyone have a linndrum?

No, you get both(or all) at the same time. I'm pretty sure it's standard. That's how it is on mine.

UA 610 Console

Check out the Universal Audio webzine article on Neil Young's 610 console . Just thought I'd mention it for people who might not see it but still like vintage gear p**n and techniques. Also there is some nice looking eye candy just laying about in the background. That one leaning against the wall be...

Re: Does this SEM module seem reasonably priced?

I don't think there is a huge difference between the two(1080 and 1180) in terms of sound. The only notable differences I have heard of is in the envelope design of early models. More crude and harder to mod. Old ones have 8 transistors, newer have 10. This is what I have been told. The price is a b...

Re: CV Seqencers or Midi to CV converters

I have both the Expressionist and the Pro-2000mkII. The Kenton, for me, is more flexible than the Encore. The aux channels on the Kenton have a range of -12.6 to +12.6 volts. The dedicated CV channels are -3 to +8 volts. The Encore says all 8 CV outs are -3 to +10 volts. But, these CV outs can be ei...

Re: M-Audio Midisport 8x8 Install problem

Good call on the registry. If your not used to it, best not to mess. Did they have you try the serial port connection and driver? Another long-shot. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with 8x8s. I switched out my Midisport 8x8 and 4x4 for Motu Midi Express 128 and Micro Lite. They are only marginally...

Re: M-Audio Midisport 8x8 Install problem

My system was sp2 when this happened to me. What happened to mine was not the 10 Entry Limit problem. It wasn't a port limit issue, it was about device drivers in general. I still tried the fix suggested from RME. Like I suspected, it made no difference. It wasn't until I removed the ghosts for devi...

Re: M-Audio Midisport 8x8 Install problem

Hey, Gregor. I might be able to help. You may have run into the Windows device limit issue. It's a Windows issue, not a device issue, really. I ran into this problem and couldn't figure it out for a year. The device drivers install, show up in devmgr, but can't "start". The solution for me was a cou...

That setup does sound like great fun. I guess the TVS would be a bit cumbersome live  ? Don't forget to check the VSE page for the TVS :D . They list production as 75-79. Z has you covered with price and such. A couple of little things that may or may not be helpful... Do you have the lid/cover...

Can't you reconfigure these SEMs with jumpers inside, or are they soldered? I notice the schematic gives details on different envelope/gate/trig connections. Yeah, soldered. It's funny, the other SEM is multi-trigger - which makes it even harder to layer them or make identical patches. Not a big de...

Nice, nathanscribe! I had a similar experience with my TVS. It's one reason why I love the Aux channels on the Pro-2000mkII. My TVS is still close to the stock CV configuration. Only one SEM has CV/Gate jacks. Env1 seems to be wired single trigger. No matter how I would set the gate on either the Ke...

I just wish the portamento on the Expressionist was quicker. There could be another 10 increments available between 1 and off.

I find the Kentons are a little better. Of course, usually, neither is close to the range you can get from the synth.
