if you are having problems with sysex and midiox, there is an easy fix. If go to view/sysex it will open the sysex view, then open sysex/configure and change the output buffer settings to something higher. Read the help portion regarding buffers, it should be very helpful. the problem is not really ...

A kenton Pro-Solo will work perfectly but I would try just plugging an audio cable into the arp sync on the 101 and send it fast attack quarter notes (like a rimshot)
