Re: external midi in Live

I dont know how it works in ableton (whether it will take a live input or needs a recorded track/loop) but audio plugins work on audio tracks, not midi tracks so you need to route the audio...

Re: REVIEW: Beat 707 Arduino Drum Sequencer

The tacts are just standard ALPS momentarys so if the 909 ones have the same electrical action, you can just wire them to the holes.

Re: Beat 707 Arduino Drum Sequencer

Someone pointed me to the site a month or so ago. Make sure to read through the forums, lots of good info there about mods/hacks. Also, dont forget to order an Arduino (I just got an Uno from adafruit). Stuff for the Mega is in the works but as of now, everything is for the Duemilanove/Uno atm.

Quick Run Down: The Beat707 is a Arduino shield (meaning hardware front end) and software for an Arduino (Uno/2009/Mega) hardware platform. The Beat70...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

Whether is modable or not really a selling point for me (it will be a bonus however). The fact that is is a cheap, modern analog mono-synth with unique features definitely is.

Personally, I cant wait to hack into this thing. Analog drum sounds are a snap to modify and I guarantee you will be seeing some tricked out ones.

Very capable for sequencing external gear for under $300. You don't have to use the internal ROM based synth engine if you don't want to.
+1.

The yamaha RM1x and RS7000 are worth mentioning as well..

I'll be doing a run of metal enclosures ala my x0xb0x in the coming months. PM me if interested. Also have a bag of red army surplus 1% polystyrene caps for anyone with the SRM4 board..

Re: Tools for synthesizer repair

Faster, bigger, better, more channels, 4 times the cost.

The DSO nano is smaller than most cell phones and is pretty limited. But for what I use it for it works very well and having a tiny scope is ideal.

That thing looks nice for the price though.

Its a wav file that you play back directly hooked up to the AX. I had it, cant find it :( worked fine though, the trick is getting the levels right...
