Re: Bad News for Software Users

Not necessarily, depends entirely on G-Media's policies - maybe contact them. What a US court says has sweet FA to do with it.

Re: Envelope Followers

...finding such things as the Oakley Module designed for Modular Synths: http://www.oakleysound.co.uk/follower.htm This unit also appears to be able to send CV and Gate so if it were a guitar being played it would send the notes to the voyager as well.. making it kindof like a guitar synth? Envelop...

Re: Expert Sleepers Audio->CV Interface

Excuse the possibly stupid question. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work for non-modulars that still use CV/Gate? None whatsoever, except you need a power supply for it. So it takes a line level, say ~.1V/octave, signal coming out of an audio interface and amplifies it to 1 V/oct? Are audio ...

Re: Expert Sleepers Audio->CV Interface

Very few audio interfaces are DC coupled (which you need for CV), Silent Way has an option to 'encode' DC signals onto audio (otherwise known as amplitude mod). This interface is essentially a bunch of envelope followers that track the amplitude of the incoming audio and use this to generate DC CVs,...

Re: My (and Your) Favorite Minimoog Solos

Lunar Sea - Camel from their 1976 album Moon Madness. Remember spending ages trying to recreate this on a Mini in one of Chase Music's (remember them?) shops. Very distinctive use of the Noise/Osc 3 mod mix control. (sorry I'll take my Anorak off now...) In The Wee Small Hours . Steve Winwood playi...

Re: Best Analog Modeling Sytnesizer On The Market

Pretty sure it's Minomoog on WYWH, I've got those sounds on a Creamware Minimax. Excellent Minimoog emulator if you can find one.

Why would they?
I thought the whole point of the Electribes was the interface, the sound isn't anything you can't achieve with software anyway.

Who's David Linn?
If you're going to slag off (why?) possibly the best drum machine designer of the last 20 years, at least get his name right.

Re: Real analogue synth from Korg: what would you buy?

A Mono/Poly reissue with memory and midi would be great at sub $1000. It should be really easy for them to do this... As these days they can have all the chips made very inexpensively and put it in a cheaper, smaller and lighter case... No they can't. Nobody makes the chips that went into the Mono/...

Re: Ion releases midi with iPhone dock

Anyone know if it's compatible with the iPod? Also, are the other various apps compatible with the iPod as well? Now I'm thinking both music software and other. Thing is I'm considering picking up an iPod instead, as that would be much cheaper. Unless they use a specific iPhone feature, iPhone apps...

Happy with my PadKontrol - note mapping, velocity sensitive (pads feel fine, but I can't compare it to anything else) and a useful XY pad.
