Thanks. Unfortunately, I do not like the Micron. The sounds that came out of it did not impress me. My own opinion.

Thanks for the reply, I will look into it. Any others? I'm seriously considering a few of these!

In addition to anything Waldorf, I would also highly reccomend the Korg Z1 for insane weirdness. Conventional wisdom is that it flopped because nobody wanted physically model'd emulations of real world instruments. HOWEVER.... beneath the conservative silver cover is a lunatic synth. 13 osc types!-...

I'm seriously considering the Mono Evolver Keyboard and the desktop Evolver as well. Keep them coming! You want both ? One or the other would do surely. How about a Korg Wavestation, way way under $1000, plenty of scope for creating weird sounds & there are loads of patches downloadable from the we...

I didn't know the sequencer could trigger sounds. Interesting. Yeah it can trigger the envelopes at every step. You can also just turn up the amplifier to hear the oscs without triggering the envelopes at all for droney stuff. Wow, this is great stuff. I'm seriously considering the Mono Evolver Key...

That track on my myspace I didn't use anything to control the evo with, it was just the internal sequencer and tweaking on the box itself. I use my V-Synth to control it when I need keys. But how do you make the noises if you don't control it with anything? Don't you need something to trigger the s...

Don't know if I'm missing something, but I can't find any music anywhere on that myspace page. :D Nope, I could not either. Is it difficult to program the desktop version of the Evolver? What did you control it with? So far, the Waldorf XT looks good, as well as the Evolver Desktop model. Keep them...

For $1000 or thereabouts I'd be grabbing an Evolver Keyboard for weird sounds, but you can do it with pretty much anything. I'd be looking at something that has a lot of realtime control (ie knobs) so that your weird sounds can change over time. Thanks. Is that the Dave Smith Evolver? I played with...

under a grand, i second original Nord Modular expanded, or G2 engine, and Waldorf XT. also, FS1R is great but its user interface is very limiting unless u go via sounddiver (avail for free on the web). another option is getting a used Creamware SCOPE card for your computer, and driving their Modula...

The SH101 and MicroKorg are nothing compared to these guys in the 'weird noise' category
Thanks. That Waldorf looks cool. Any others?

Synth for weird noises and sound effects?

Hey guys. I'm just looking for a synth that can make some CRAZY noises, sound effects, whatever. Ambient noises are cool too. I know the SH-101 can make some weird stuff, as well as the MicroKORG, but anyone got any other suggestions? It does not matter if it is analog or digital or whatever. My bud...
