The ping ponging is most likely a delay line. If you listen carefully to songs from that era, you'll hear direct synth in one channel and delyed signal in the other. "Jump" has a short delay line that fattens up the sound. Many Oberheim synths have the ability to pan each voice either with hardware...

Re: Talk Box?
I'm about to buy a talk box to do some Daft Punk style vocals. What do you guys recommend as a synth sound to do the vocals through? My main synth is a Nord Lead 2x. I believe they used a vocoder. You can maybe buy a MicroKorg for a vocoder? I think I saw a guy using the MicroKorg vocoder to replic...

Thanks for that info! If that is the case, the pad has to be a P5...Micke wrote:I've read that large parts of that album were created on a Fairlight CMI IIx (owned/programmed by Tony Mansfield, who co-produced the album).
The other synths being used were afaik a Prophet 5, DX-7 and a Synclavier.

Roland Polyphonic Keyboard w/ Oberheim OB-1?
Hey guys. I am wondering if the Roland 100m 184 4v Polyphonic Keyboard Controller can connect to the Oberheim OB-1 via CV (does the OB-1 have the same CV input as the keyboard's CV output)? I mean, I know it can connect, but is the OB-1 compatible with the keyboard? It'd be sweet to make the OB-1 in...

Oh, you're one of the bluesynth guys! I've spent many hours browsing through those reviews when I was bored :) Thanks for doing what you do, I know of no other review site that has so many unique samples and pictures aswell. I always refer to BS when ppl ask about some synth. Hope it'll be updated ...

Pads in A-Ha's Take On Me video?
I was listening to this song the other day, and the pads sound amazing! Anyone know what synth was used for the pads in this song? Thanks.

Oberheim OB-1 = actual monophonic version of an OB-X?
I hear about the OB-X a lot, but not much about the OB-1. Is it actually a monophonic version of the OB-X, or is it a different sounding synth? Thanks.
