I can hear a little similarity between the Polaris and the Chroma.....especially in the low end. The Polaris can sound a bit more "icy" at times in the highs and mids, at least to my ears. The Chroma sounds more organic to me, more earthy.....but that can change very quickly when you start digging i...

I havent really had my Chroma long, but it really isnt all that tough to program if youve got patience. Its actually laid out very logically. You pretty much do have to look at the programming chart though while your doing it for reference. It does sound amazing, especially with a little chorus/reve...

Prodyssey w/ Rhodes Chroma and a little Minimax bass thrown in. The Prodyssey can definitely make some crazy-ass space sounds.

Some Chroma pads/choirs with spacey Prodyssey sounds. Minimax bass. No overdubs.

for those living in the Chicago area who havent been successful finding a decent vintage synth repair shop, I highly recommend the Good Guys Pro Audio Repair in St. Paul, Mn. They brought my completely dead Chroma back to life and now its sounding sweet.

Have any of you Minimax owners had trouble with Midi notes locking up when sequencing? I've upgraded the firmware but Its still happening, even in Poly mode. I havent had this problem with my Prodyssey. I'm using an Alesis MMT-8 to sequence. By the way, this by no means takes away from the fact that...

I agree, the Minimax sounds great.... and the Prodyssey as well sound incredible.....when I first auditioned it I believe I made stool in my pants... but yeah, I did alot of research online first. I am not dissappointed. I like it so much that I am already getting that paranoid "I gotta get a...

a used Roland D-50 back in 1990, along with an Alesis MMT-8 sequencer and a couple of Simmons SDS-1 pads. I played out less than 6 months later opening up for one of the local metal bands. Wish I still had those SDS-1's.....very cool swapping e-proms and cranking on the knobs for those crazy whooooo...

I got my Juno-106 from a friend for $200 who had it sitting in his closet in its case since the 80's......mint condition. At first I kind of blew it off, but after messin' with it for awhile, I'm hooked. Very nice synth, great sound, easy to use. Blends nice with my icy sounding Polaris. I say get it.

Back when we toured in the early/mid nineties we had a full-music/midi sequenced light show using 2 MMT-8's. One MMT-8 for music, and the other MMT-8 slaved to it, which we "wrote" lights on. We used a midi lighting board and we had several relay packs. Worked amazingly well. We had around 20 differ...
