Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

$699 instead of $499 for more keys, poly, and VCOs, and asked why they don't offer that Because for polyphony you need one VCO per voice. If you suggest a second VCO on the panel, it makes two VCOs per voice. So, for a "little" polyphony of four voices, you need eight VCOs (!) four filters, eight e...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

The reviewer also said that this was probably the most complex oscillator design they had ever seen outside of a modular monosynth.
Not a surprise ;) when you see what the man behind the MiniBrute is usually doing...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

The first production run is going to be 1000 units tho.
From Mr Usson himself, this will be 1500 units for the first batch.
especially for my solo sounds I think one oscillator ends up sounding better
With the Ultrasaw, you can really approach the sound of two oscillators at unisson.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

That's right, I have forgotten the digital LFO. Mr Yves Usson (MiniBrutes father) told me that this choice was because the synchronisation with the arpeggio.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

fully analogue would have pushed it a little higher in price.
But the MiniBrute IS fully analog !!
The digital part concerns only the keyboard, MIDI and arpeggio.

The low price is reached thanks to the chinese production.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

How is the S-P filter?
It's a 12dB/oct, very musical sounding, without too much decrease the body of the sound when you push up the resonnance.
It's a little MS20-like, specially when adding the Brute Factor !
(in fact, a kind of re-injection of the audio out at the input of the filter)

Re: Analog Solutions Leipzig VS. Arturia MiniBrute

but I have played a Minibrute. Me too, just this week-end for a short live act. About the single oscillator, the Ultrasaw of the MB can easy create the slight detune of two (or three) oscillators in unisson. And the Metalizer of the triangle wave can approach the spirit of two synced oscillos. And ...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

What was your impression? A cool and very versatile synth ! It can product aggressive stuff as well than smooth melodic sounds. In addition of the square, the suboscillator offers a sin waves ! With it you can have a very nice and round low end. I think that 2012 will be a bad year for the woofers !

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

perfection would be another VCO and Ring Mod. Also I am surprised nobody has made a big song and dance at the fact the VCF is only 2 pole. Not that I am complaining but it is still a small surprise on a beautiful little synth. I think that with the Hypersaw we could easy create the detune of two VC...

Re: Roland's greatest synth?

I had the three Jupiter.

-JP8: wonderful instrument, but sold
-JP6: sold (sometimes I regret it)
-JP4: still have it !! Good roughness in sound, it's like four SH09 in a box.

Let us not forget the VP330 for its strings section.
