Re: Kraftwerk: The Mystery Of Klaus Roder

So Schult had to erase himself? It seems likely that Conny Plank played no small part in the recorded version of Autobahn as well. I don't know about different mixes (although there are different remasters obviously) but I always felt the German and anglophone versions of Computer World were differe...

Re: Kraftwerk: The Mystery Of Klaus Roder

Dude, the guitar seems pretty obvious in Autobahn. It's playing the main melody along with the flute from around 3:30, a chiming tone. Then by itself from around 4:45. It could be mistaken for a synth but you can hear some notes sliding after being plucked and also the "envelope" is uneven. Well, it...

Re: DSI speculation

Hmmm, in the media release it says the paraphonic mode shares a single envelope, while Dave said each voice gets their own amplifier envelope? :? ... They probably still share the single VCA. He doesn't say they have their own *amplifier* envelopes, just their own envelopes. Not exactly clear what ...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

If they've really paid attention to detail with the component modelling, and it seems like they have, then they could be fully modelling the way the sample playback is done on a 909 and also on 7x7 if/when those banks arrive. There's more than one way to do sample playback / interpolation and not al...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

OK, so it is standard audio device. Still not clear what we're listening to in playback there but probably the TR-8 is set up as the input device and their main card remains the output device; something you can do in OS-X but not Windows. The other option is to make an aggregate audio device, again ...

OK. It's still not clear from the video tbh. Do these "inputs" somehow show up in the DAW alongside any inputs and outputs on the main soundcard?

Re: New stuff from Roland!

I mean it seems the main desirable scenario is you have the multi outs coming into your DAW for mixing along with all your other tracks and out of your main outputs, or whatever. If you can't do that it's going to be a bit of a gimmick, more limited than running an 808 through a desk, for example.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Not a problem (only for Roland), just the question of how they are doing the multi-channel USB audio without it having to be the primary soundcard, something which of course would limit its practicality. Maybe a plugin like the TI. Maybe it's clearer in the vid you posted; haven't watched it for tec...
