Re: New stuff from Roland!

This isn't true, you can use multiple ASIO devices simultaneously. This limitation isn't one of ASIO but of software you might be using, shitty drivers/product, or honestly.. it can just be outright confusing to configure. I use 3 different ASIO simultaneous devices every day. M-Audio 1010 (in/out/...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

No, I get that Griffin - but did the SP-555 work alongside your other soundcard? I don't know what "attached source/channel" means exactly in this context. But quite possible I've just not seen it as I've never used any USB audio other than ASIO. I will say that my DAWs only let you select one audio...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

In previous Roland models, it isn't a soundcard choice per se, it's an input. So in your DAW, you choose whatever your system will call it as a Channel INPUT choice. Like......"TR-8 Audio RL". And the sound is piped in from the unit on ONLY THAT CHANNEL. Really, OK. Not something I'm familiar with....

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Looking at the way the sounds are selected I think it's possible they will offer additional sounds as upgrades or add-on purchases. One thing I'm wondering about though is the multi-channel USB audio. If it works as a soundcard as it seems to in the Sonic State video, how is that going to work with ...

It happens anyway, keyboard or no keyboard.

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick

No, fair enough - but you will didn't watch the video did you? ;-)

Pitch is going up and down like the Assyrian empire. (thanks google auto-complete for that erudite variation on the bride's nightie.)

I'd definitely hold the seller to the shipping quote of $60 to the UK from AUS!

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick

Don't think anyone's really explained what he's doing there though. It does seem to be affecting pitch so it could be a mic through an envelope follower into pitch cv, or a kazoo. ;-) Overdriving the external input can do some funny things to pitch. Ever tried this using the old VCO feedback trick?...

Re: Could Monotribe "click" be solved with a firmware update

Some people have done mods to reduce the clicking. Perhaps the more annoying part is it happens at the "instantaneous" release on two of the three envelope shapes. If the envelopes were software controlled it might well be possible to change in the firmware but AFAIK they're not. It's not disastrous...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Hard to know if this has been posted before if people don't put any text in but here's a couple of tracks from The Howling II OST by Steve Parsons & Babel , 1985 I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RU525axaRVQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlAuaagvCYk And something new and rather good - Rob's s...

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?

"Weak" is just a different quality of sound, sometimes appropriate - not every snare has to be a monster smack round the face. I like the sound of this from what I've heard. The kick sounds pretty good, the hats are really nice and I reckon the snare is probably quite tweakable, even without EQ. But...
