Roland Sh09 or SH02??

i am considering the acquisition of either the roland sh09 or sh02. it "seems" to me that the roland sh02 is simply the 09 with an added osc... is this the case? can the sh02 make the same great bass sounds that can be had from the 09? i'd love to get your opinions about the strengths and weaknesses...

i think i've read this whole shebang now. some thoughts (some brought on by the earliest pages): -i would imagine the drum pad portion of the boomchik will be modeled at least loosely one the mpc line (NOT the mc-505), as roger linn designed the mpc. -i think it's perfectly legit to discuss a synth...

people are whining if they are f'in whining. feel free to go look up what it means. i don't believe that anybody explained that it was somehow wrong to have or discuss opinions, but the ridiculous point it has reached based off of loose and undefined specs and almost no knowledge of the thing is to...

Well, I'm not saying he's going to get rich. But he's doing it for a living AND it's his passion. And I, of course, am thrilled that so many people are making analog synths these days - especially in the modular world. But I just don't see any point in this thread devolving into an 'I LOVE DAVE SMI...

calm down fanboy ... just some people are a bit letdown with it not being multi-timbral. Makes a big difference for people that like to make what I call ... electronic music.... not Hall & Oates covers. was this "fanboy" reference to me? i would sure hope not. respecting a man's work and fitting th...

The EPS is simple to work with, its like walking in the park on a spring day. The EPS is your friend, your sampling companion. It imparts no magical sound and the lack of a resonant filter sucks. But it does what is meant to do very well. The DSS-1 on the other hand is an absolute beast to work wit...

funny thing, i have noticed that 50% of the time, my mobius also has issues syncing properly with my tr808. it often sends in doubletime. i haven't been able to figure it out either. i also do not see this issue with other devices!

* meaning... i don't think it is your tr808.

The first one is easy to program...but the fact that if you make a mistake on step 31...then you have to start over is bullshit. that's true... very frustrating! more than that, my biggest pet peeve is that you can't replay the steps in a manner that will allow you to write the pattern down as in t...

i think the programming in the new version will work to add some things i missed in the original, though i still think that the original was easy as h**l to program..

i know and have known some people who were closely involved in the creation of that great synth. i can tell you that there was a lot of analog love in the people who made it, so it sounds like some serious passion played a good role in it.

Analog ENV's offer a lot of different "feel" that you will never get out of a digital ENV. I think that the reason isn't so much that the digital ENV can't produce it, as much as it is something not programmed for. As an example, ENV's can be made out of many different analog types of circuits. One ...
