He did'nt use a LinnDrum on p**n either. On 100 years (the only song to feature a drummachine on that album) they used a Boss dr55 with 99% certainty.
Not true. p**n is basically all drum machine. Lol Tolhurst was pretty messed up during the recording of that album, so Robert used h...

Use any volume/expression pedal. I use my Boss Volume pedal, and it works great.

Polarity is one of the best albums of all electronic music. I didn't like when they went all software for Vertical Theory, and I feel that album suffered because of that. It's a shame they're disbanding. I shall listen to Homes & Gardens now.

If i'm not mistaken, the bell sound on Confusion was coming out of an Emulator. I have no idea where the original sample came from, but I agree that it's a digital synth. It could have been an early DX.

I am NOT being a smartass....

Twist knobs, push sliders, press key.

Seriously. And listen to what each function/parameter does.

How easy is it to make sounds on the Yamaha SY-77?

Is it one of those synths like the D-50 where the concept is easy enough, but the process makes you want to murder at a Mc Donalds?
HA HA HA HA HA. I laugh my a*s off at people who say the Nords are lifeless and useless. Here's the funny thing about synths... they are all vanilla until they get in the proper hands. The Nord isn't going to make itself sound good for you, the USER is the one who defines the output of the sound. Wi...

Re: Need help on how to record

How am I supposed to record my synths to a computer? Is there any kind of programs I need? I went out and bought a USB/MIDI interface and have no clue as to what I'm supposed to do. If anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated. I know this is no help, but man I miss being in your shoes. It's fun/...

CV cables for the ol' analogs.

IS there 1/8 to 1/8 cables, or is TRS to 1/8 connectors the only way?

Don't worry, I hate Pro Tools. I'm a Logic person, but the Steinberg stuff was looking interesting.

Nuendo or Logic? Let's have it!

Which do you prefer and why? Which DAW is quicker and more efficeint for getting things done and recorded. I plan on sequencing as much as I plan on recording audio, so both are important. The sequencer needs to be logical, and not hurt the flow. Opinions, please! Thanks.

How is the sound on those? They do seem rather cool. Do you need a conversion kit for US power?
