Poly 800 II won't power on!

I have a Korg Poly 800 Mark II that will not power on (properly), either when powered by batteries or PSU. An audible pop (from speakers/phones) can be heard when clicking the power switch to the on or off position but no other sounds are made and the LED display does not light up. The synth is othe...

Anyone have any idea about the Akai SG01v?

I have just picked up an Akai SG01v... It's a fantastic little module, but I seem to be restricted to one of two modes - either "Single" mode (which is monotimbral and insufficient, as I want more than one sound from it) or "Multi" mode, which uses up ALL 16 MIDI channels. The latter would be the mo...

Re: Roland D2 Soft Thru

I take it that's no-one, then...

Has anyone seen this with the MC-505 at all? I understand that the two boxes are related, so it crossed my mind that there could be a common issue/solution...

Roland D2 Soft Thru (or MC-505?)

Here's a curious issue I'm having trouble with... I have a Roland D2 Groovebox, and I use a controller keyoard to program notes into it, rather than mess around with the D-Field pad. I also use it as the master unit to MIDI sync other sequencers that do not need to be controlled by the keyboard, as ...

Re: VSE - Good trader thread

I'll recommend Nukeitfromorbit without hesitation...

I bought his Electribe A, which was exactly as described, and arrived very quickly (even ignoring the transatlantic shipping!). Excellent comms, too..!

A sterling guy, and a pleasure to do business. :)

Yeah - pretty much what I expected. Hum.

Oh, well... Thanks for the info! Not sure I want to go to the extreme of using an outboard FX unit to fix it.

Korg Electribe A finetune?

Hmmm... I suspect that this will be a quick question with a quick answer... Does anyone know if it's possible to finetune the Korg Electribe A (Mark 1)? I want it set to concert pitch, like the rest of my gear and my guitars, etc... But it isn't - it's very slightly flat. So naturally, I want to alt...

Very dim display on ESI-32

Hi peeps! Just thought I'd try a prospective query here... The display on my E-Mu ESI-32 is VERY dim - just readable, but needs low-ish ambient light, so I'm obviously considering fixing it... Only thing is, whilst I'm a pretty dab hand with basic electronics and a soldering iron, I'm not really sur...

Thanks guys - useful info! I've just bought it, and it came with one floppy... I haven't experimented further but I think this means I can format more disks, so I reckon I'm sorted out! Thanks DX especially - although I think I'm ok for disks now, those utils look to be very useful to have around! 8)

So I sold it off at the same cheap price I bought it for. I did likewise. Bought a cheap S2000, hated it instantly and sold it at the same price the next week. I then picked up a maxed-out E-Mu ESI-32 for the same money and love it, but then... I knew I would, cos I used to own an ESI-4000 and real...

E-Mu EMAX O/S Question

Ok - nothing too taxing for someone here I suspect... Don't know if it should be in "Samplers" or "Help", though..! I'm just about to buy an E-Mu EMAX (basic keyboard, non-HD, first version, I believe) for £20. The thing is, the guy selling it genuinely knows nothing about it, and I'm not much wiser...

ESI-32 SCSI question...

Oh yeah... Another E-mu ESI-32 question... Don't know if this should be in "Help" or "Samplers", but I think this should be ok! I've got what is obviously a SCSI interface inside my ESI-32 - it's a board joined straight onto the rear Centronics-type SCSI connector. When the ESI arrived, this card wa...

Source for ESI-32 Display?

Hey peeps... I'm dearly loving my spangly new (uh... old, actually) E-Mu ESI-32 with ONE minor issue: The display is not backlit very well. I'm aware that this is an issue on so many synth and sampler displays that it's just not funny, but at the right angle or in direct light it's fine. However, I ...
