It's certainly how I used to upload stuff to my previous TX7s - I've owned a couple before...

The only thing is that I'm using a different PC, a different MIDI interface AND a different TX7, so theoretically any one part could be faulty...

Well... It's an old version of DX manager, but I get the same problem trying to send sysex from MIDI-OX or Bome's SendSX, and even when I set the data rate higher OR lower. I've now also tested things by setting one MIDI sysex prog to send a sysex patch and another to receive, and then connected in ...

Nope - none of the MK1s (not even the reverse-key model) had an internal battery, AFAIK, although there are retro-fit schematics out there on the web, and many working Polys have had this done. What you've got here is a very common Poly 800 MK1 issue. What you need to do is put new batteries in it (...

Flaky DX Manager or USB MIDI?

Ok - so I'm using a new (well - 2nd hand, new-ish) laptop, with a brand new, but very cheap USB-MIDI interface - one of the generic inline, 1xUSB, 1xMIDI In, 1xMIDI Out -types. I don't seem to be able to get DX Manager to either recognise or transmit sysex voice banks to my TX7. For that matter, non...

I did try DMCS, way back when... But in the end I stuck with OctaMED because it was better for gigging - I achieved a pretty cool live, groovebox-y approach using two A1200s - running both internal samples and outboard MIDI gear... Stopped doing things that way around 1999-2000, although I have to s...

Well... I just (almost) replaced my entire studio with a Roland MC-808, which I love, prior to a move from the US back to the UK. I plan to get a whole bunch of new (vintage) synth gear again, but for now the 808 rocks a*s! Only thing is, it's just a squeak outside of your price range (got mine for ...

MC-808 Patches

Ok... I have no idea if this is in the correct part of the forum or not, but: Does anyone know if it's possible to download and install new patches for the Roland MC-808 from anywhere? Also, if the downloads ARE available, does anyone know where from? Finally, I'd assume that the MC-808 editor softw...

Just sold my TX7 to nuketifromorbit - straight up guy, paid promptly, communicated well, understood and respected an issue that caused a minor delay on my part. I can honestly and absolutely recommend him without reservations to anyone looking to sell gear here! (Thanks again to nuketifromorbit for ...

That's what I thought, but I couldn't find it (rolandus.com) - either on the product info pages or after logging in and looking in the manuals section.

Maybe I'm just dumb...

MC-808 Factory Presets?

Just wondering... Are there any fellow MC-808 owners/afficionados out there who happen to have a complete, formatted list of the factory preset sounds on it? I'm looking for a quick and easy reference, rather than havingto flip through and audition them one by one. I don't know if the 808 shipped wi...

The Casio VA-10 was the easiest I ever used.

Switch on, select a vocoder patch, speak into mic. That was all you needed to do! 8)

Oh, and this is my post number 808, so I'm having a party now..!

Got mine for £55 about 3 years ago and sold it for £135 just before I moved to the USA.

Kinda regretting selling it, now...

Ho-hum. :?
