Re: Spectralis song!

Love it! Glitchy and ambient at the same time. The Speckie pulls this off better than most.

Re: Spectralis vs. A4

Thank you for your thorough answer/opinion. I'm inclined to agree; as an all-in-one, I doubt that anything would top the Speckie for my ears.

Spectralis vs. A4

I understand the physical differences, but in terms of creativity, playability, overall sound--anyone have any thoughts. I am a Speckie owner desperately trying to tell myself that the A4 would not be a necessary complement.

Re: New Elektron box--Analog Four

I'm curious as to how this would stack up against a Studio Electronics Omega 4. I sold my Omega to get a Spectralis 2-which I'm very happy with, despite its complexity. It's been a few years since I GASsed over anything, but this Elektron release definitely piques my interest. I just wonder if it ha...

Re: Taking A Loss

The idea of a significant loss due to depreciation always bothered me until I started viewing the truncated periods of "ownership" more as "rentals" which allowed me to explore different machines and sounds and learn from them. At one point, I had $35,000 of equipment, and during the past 5 years, I...

Re: Every VCO Polyphonic Synthesizer

Already mentioned, the SE Omega 8 is the way to go. Modern, warrantied, still in business, etc. Most vintage sound you'll get from a contemporary unit.

Re: Day 2 Spectralis 2

Anyway, congrats on the acquisition, be studious, as it does take a bit of time to get around the machine with fluidity, but it does come, and you will be rewarded. Get on the spec help forum - good tips there and quick answers to quesitons. Im `aquapher` there... Thanks! Yep, I'm digging in and le...

Re: Elektron, Metasonix and Korg oh my!

Holy s**t! Makes Combichrist sound like Donny Osmond :)
Finally, the Metasonix used in the context for which it was created.

Spectralis 2 up and running...

Now I remember why I love the Speckie. Oh, that heavenly sound from those analog filters! True, I've only slept 8 hours in the past 3 days, but the creative juices are giving me the stamina I need. This time around I have no other instruments to distract me, so I'm up for the labyrinthine menu divin...

Re: Day 2 Spectralis 2

Whoawhoawhoawhoa! I've been wanting to go spectralis for some time now (I like to play live, so everything in one box is very sexy to me), so I had done all my reading and mostly knew what I was getting into. Now that I've spent some time with it. I am truly impressed. As I learn each section, Im j...

Re: MIDI question (using multiple devices)

One small thing to consider might be a tiny bit of latency in using the MIDI THRU ports. It's all dependent on the speed of the processors in those machines. A minor correction: On a synth that properly complies with the MIDI standard, the THRU jack is electrically connected directly to the IN jack...

Re: Analogue Solutions subculture and the world of CV/Modula

Where did you order the A.S. Leipzig-s from? I didn't know it was for sale yet. I got it from Novamusik. I think it's been out for at least a month, but they're very hard to find. I just opened the box and started playing it a few hours ago. I'm not sure what I think of it yet. On the one hand, it ...

Analogue Solutions subculture and the world of CV/Modular

I never paid much attention to Analogue Solutions equipment because all their products seemed geared more for modular and CV aficianados, a club I'm not currently a member of. Until this week, that is. While looking for a unit to replace my FR 777 (which was being underused), I came across the A.S. ...

Leipzig-s vs. Moog Voyager RME

I know that the Voyager has the extra oscillator, memory and maybe a few more routing options. But is it worth twice the price of the Leipzig? I've used the Voyager before and loved it and know it's a sound monster, but the Leipzig intrigues me, particularly with its sequencer. Can anyone who has us...
