Evolver w/Blofeld and Mobius?

I want a synth with a built-in sequencer to help me utilize my Waldorf Blofeld. I do not want any keyboards. I love the sound of the desktop Evolver, but the complexity of the matrix scares the c**p out of me. I never owned one, but I tried it out in a store a few years ago and it seemed difficult f...

Good place to hear some RS7000 stuff:

I don't see a higher end one with a sequencer, though.

Re: Similar to Polymorph?

Hence why I've always screamed for Elektron to make a plain old sequencer with no sound engine whatsoever... it will NEVER happen. You should take a really good look at the Octatrak. Half of the machine is nothing but a midi sqeuencer and it's even better than the MM or MD. Thanks. I did watch a fe...

Re: Similar to Polymorph?

Third point .. the concept of the ultimate groovebox (sequencer that makes sounds) is a farce... they all kinda suck. Not so funny but true. Say it ain't so! There has to be at least one. One last try: Is there anything out there that I've missed (aside from the Polymorph, the Monomachine, any of t...

Re: Similar to Polymorph?

Thanks-I forgot to mention that I owned one of those as well. Good suggestion, of course, but I had a kind of claustrophobia from the sound on the Mono. But, the sequencing on those (particularly the ability to sequence other units) is top-notch for my purposes, and I may indeed go that route if not...

Similar to Polymorph?

I once owned a Quasimidi Polymorph and I stupidly sold it. After floundering through several months trying out Radikal Technologies' Spectralis 1 and 2, I once again long for the simplicity of the Polymorph, but they are sadly exceedingly rare and I can't find one. Is there any other multi synth wit...

Re: Europa paired with Blofeld?

Thanks to everyone for their input on this...I think I'm going to go for it. None of the others had the form or function that appealed to me. Also-I don't think it's too expensive compared to the high-end sequencers that have more features than I need.

Re: Europa paired with Blofeld?

I tried to delete the Speckie off of my signature here, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I no longer own the Speckie. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Europa paired with Blofeld?

I've been looking for a decent hardware sequencer to drive my (desktop) Blofeld. I don't want to get too crazy and go the route of an Octopus or Nemo, and I don't want to buy several Orbs. I haven't been in the sequencer market for a long time and was wondering if anybody's used the Analogue Solutio...

Re: is smoking in a room bad for the output of a synth

I've actually found that the damage to the circuits and and wiring that smoking causes can lead to some really interesting warped distortion and effects. For instance, I like to purposely blow cigarette smoke directly onto my Spectralis, and have noticed that the deep bass tones have a certain "rasp...

Re: 3 FR Orb Sequencers Chained Together?

The new Cirklon sequencer looks promising. Did you just not have enough time to get into the Nemo functions? It's really one of the most flexible sequencers. 3 Orbs would be cool, more limited, but possibly more streamlined. Wow! That Cirklon is news to me. I just saw this demo today: http://www.sy...

3 FR Orb Sequencers Chained Together?

After selling my beautiful, yet somewhat complex Nemo sequencer, my Studio Electronics Omega has only had one monophonic sequencer available at hand to drive one of it four voices: my FR Mobius. I am considering adding 3 FR Orb seuencer chained together to fit in my 19-inch rack below the Mobius, so...

Re: GAS --- Just bought 2 new pieces... POLYMORPH & SIDSTATION

You’ve sparked my curiosity/interest. I’m sort of looking for all in one portable solutions at the moment anyway. How do you feel the VA sounds holds up against other VAs? That can be the biggest issue for me. I liked the intuitive nature of programming Elektron gear but I found the sound to be sev...

Re: GAS --- Just bought 2 new pieces... POLYMORPH & SIDSTATION

Had the Polymorph for awhile, and though it's definitely easier to navigate around than the Spectralis, its sound just lacks the beefy analogesque punch of the Speckie. I own the Spectralis 2 now and it is THE expansive (and expensive) complicated, astral, sonic spaceship of the decade. However, I d...
