I'm curious how you measured current going to and from the transformer. Current must be measured in series so you would have to cut wires and put your multimeter between them. I think your "no current" measurement (and conclusion that it's the transformer) is not correct. Have you measured voltages ...

Go through the Rogue calibration procedure and make sure the Rogue CV out is 0V for low F and 2.58V for high C. I haven't used an FR Revolution but it may be putting out 0V for midi C0 instead of an F. The manual online doesn't specify. A volts/oct standard only indicated that the scale matches, e.g...

What are the odds?! I just degunked an MG-1 today too. I'm also going to sell it when I get everything working. I sure hope the new owner will appreciate my efforts because it was a pain. Several towels were ruined in the process.

Well you have the last two letters mixed up. It's S2W83SA aka EHM-S226W83S. Try this: http://www.rangeraudio.com/stock10.htm

It looks to only be used in the Jupiter-6 and MKS-80.

The Simian song sounds like 1 oscillator, pretty narrow pulse wave. The filter envelope has a pretty quick decay time. D.A.N.C.E. sounds similar, maybe a bit overdriven. As far as figuring out which synth to buy, it comes down to what you'll need. Maybe you'll need presets live. Maybe you'll want po...

If you know Reason well then use Reason for original synths and drums and Cubase for existing audio. They sync up when run together.

With a medium decay time and "Sustain" set to "Out," does changing the VCA from "Contour" to "Keyed" change the detuning amount?

Now with the VCA in keyed mode and a medium filter cutoff, does turning up the "Amt" slider in the filter section increase the detuning?

Try a tiny bit of random LFO on both oscillators for an old tape/drift effect. Also tune the oscillators off center e.g. osc1 +2 cents and osc2 +4 cents instead of osc1 -1 cents osc 2 +1 cents for an out of tune analog feel.
