I had my trusty home-made MicroMoog built from a gutted suitcase organ, scrap circuit board parts, lots of trips to RadioSnack, and a trip to a specialty electronics store to fetch those RCA 3080 op-amps.

i agree that a midi out would be great what with the hardware sequencer and all the modulation possibilities it would offer, but i think you already get your moneys worth, Yes, but that's not the point. I'd pay more if it had audio in and MIDI in/out. As it is, it's not what I need and Cubase is su...

Bome's SendSX is piss-easy standalone program for saving your banks as sysex. You just get the synth to bulk-dump, which will show up in the 'received' window of SendSX and you then just save it as a .syx file. Good to know. Any programs for mac for easy loading of sysex? This might save some troub...

Good points. But if it doesn't meet MY requirements, then there's no fault in asking for it to meet those requirements. When it does, I may buy it. i think people expect a little too much from reason think about what you are getting for your money, two synths, 2 samplers, a boatload of effects and w...

Two synths I shouldn't like, but still like: The Dee Ex Seven! I hate everything about the way it has been used in pop music over the years, and everybody keeps telling me that I should dislike it. But I still love it. Or should I say them? I have four variations of the DX7 in the arsenal. I tried ...

Try the JP8000.zip patch bank for your AN1X at the bottom of the following URL and post back what you think. : ) http://www.planet-groove.com/yamaha/patches-an1x.html Messing with these for the past couple nights. Many nice patches in there. Lots to learn from them. Many are great emulations of the...

JP-8000 fan just got an AN1x. Hmm...

Fellow synthoids: I've been a happy with my rig (mostly messing with the MO-8, JP-8000, and JD-990) for some time, though I've longed for a KB besides the DX7iiFD with aftertouch. After reading the gushing praise of the AN1x here, especially in the threads that spoke of both the JP-8000 and AN1x, I ...

Not sure if this might help, but I use JACK for routing audio and midi: Yes, JACK is great and it really makes up for the relative lack of audio programs in Linux. I've been using the new Ubuntu Studio which includes it, I highly recommend it. On Windows, I agree with the MidiOX recommendation and ...
