'preciate the tip. Bidule used to work well. It has started to misbehave lately. An app restart gets it going again, but only for a while. There is a new version I'll have to try.

Problem solved. Disassemble D-550. Remove small board with pot. Desolder and disassemble pot. Clean oxide with pencil eraser. Reassemble. Works great.

MIDI patch bay through computer?

I'm trying to solve what seems like a fairly simply problem, but I haven't figured it out yet. I have all my music devices connected to my computer via USB or hard-wired MIDI cables through an Edirol UM-3ex. I want to be able to control, for example, my Roland D-550 or JD-990 from my MO8 or YPG-625 ...

D-550 with bad volume pot

Roland doesn't sell these pots any more. I'm going to open her up and see if I can find a match. In the meantime, I'll hardwire it to full volume becuz it's going into a mixer all the time anyway. Any leads on these old parts? Someone know of a Roland graveyard or where I can get one?

thanks

I'll leave the ESQ1 sound description to those who know the synth better. After reading about the DW8000 and seeing that it's one of the highest rate...

home-made mini moog

1977 or 1978. Ripped the guts out of my old suitcase organ and installed home-made mini-moog circuits. Thanks, Dad, for the schematic, Radio Snack for basic stuff, electronics store in Rome GA for the hard-to-find parts (RCA 3080 op-amp, etc.), and Delta Electronics for the scrap precision resistors.

Wow Wow Wow

Interesting how much warmer the real CS80 sounds.
