Sounds better than the Wolf. I definitely like the claps and disco toms.

Re: New Roland ANALOG/DIGITAL JD-XA "Flagship" Synth -NAMM 2

The JD-Xi sounds good to my ears and if the Xa flagship has 4 analog voices then I'm going to preorder as soon as its listed. Since its a prototype, I suspect its going to be a while before we can get our hands on it.

Are you calculating velocity by measuring the time between the contacts on the SPDT switch?

Re: So Rowlf the Dog plays an ARP...

So I have a 2-year old and we watch The Muppet Movie constantly. As soon as I spotted the Arp I had to google to confirm lol. Also when The Electric Mayhem perform 'Can You Picture That?' You can clearly see a Roland TR-77 drum machine. I guess they have to fall back on it when Animal gets out of co...

Okay...I think if this is going to be perennially resurrected, whoever does said resurrection-ing should have to post their own cover of the song for all of us to critique. THAT would make it simply a wonderful Christmas time...
Got a MIDI file? :D

Re: Moog discontinues Slim Phatty

Will we get blowout pricing anywhere? Somehow I doubt it given Moog's pricing model, but I see a lot of Phatty's on the used market (esp after Sub 37 was announced) and at some point the retailers are going to want to reclaim their warehouse space.

Re: Akai Analog Drum Machine

My unit seems to have some clock/digital noise leakage into the main output. Not too bad, easily lost in the mix, but definitely noticeable with headphones. Nothing a gate can't fix. The snare drum is mediocre (but definitely has character) but all the other sounds are very interesting. The monosynt...

Re: Best synth basslines of all time?

This may be pushing it a bit, but how about Billy Ocean's "When the going gets tough"?

Probably DX-7, but there is that nice modulation at the end of each run that gives it a special groove.
