Re: arturia poly synth......when is the ?

I would definitely like to see one. Building a DCO poly is definitely easier than a VCO poly since keeping the voices matched/tuned becomes a more complicated endeavor with VCO tech. The firmware is a little more complicated since you have to manage polyphony/voice assignment and multiple instances ...

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they

The correct answer is: however many they have right now. Cynical, but history is on the side of my argument. Roland tends to abandon products very, very quickly if they think they can't drive additional sales in sufficient quantities to overcome R&D costs. My understanding is the System-1 sales are ...

Re: review of repair work - Three Wave Music

You should have shipped it to Greg Montalbano (analogsynthservice.com). He is THE P-5 repair expert and very reasonable rates and repair times. I bet you would have had it back within a few weeks and for less than $400. He repaired my non-functional P-5 Rev 1 and got it completely calibrated and ev...

Re: Why are Casio CZ synth prices so high?

I just sold my exc cond, working CZ-1 (non-ebay sale) for $150 which seems quite reasonable.

Yeah, I probably could have gotten a couple grand for it on eBay but why contribute to silly synth price inflation? :D

Re: Synth Spa- Haven't seen my 106 in almost a year...

Being a synth tech is a challenge. It seems like a lot of the guys that have the skills to do it aren't always good businessmen or have the organization and prioritization skills to go along with the tech abilities.

Definitely not a job I would want!

Re: Which Hardware Sequencer for full songs?

If you can live with just rack mount SMF playback there are a couple of options: yamaha CS-6r, some Roland commercial/contractor playback units [AR series] come to mind off the top of my head. I think some of the Roland units will also record. But, no step sequencing. There doesn't seem to be many o...

Got a direct link?

Cyndi Lauper "I'll Kiss You" Live

Great tune with a nice, quirky synth solo. Anyone (Micke? :D) know what the live rig for this show was? I guess this is the "She's So Unusual" tour? Looks like a Memorymoog in the keyboard player's rig but nothing else is apparent. I also think I spotted a Linn in the drummer's rig - would be intere...

Re: Modulus 002 --- new synth from UK

What do we want really? when someone releases a monosynth around $1000 ppl clamour about someone should make a polysynth too with cheap components. When someone makes a poly, and they ALWAYS cost 4-5000, everyone whines about that too. I think a lot of the whining is just because there is no low-en...

Mono p12, without a doubt.

I'm so confident I'm correct that If I'm wrong I'll write everyone in this thread a check for $1000.00

(Disclaimer: I will not actually be writing any checks)

This forum is pure poison if you have GAS tendencies. I know from experience. I started buying vintage synths only after talking and reading about them here. It's a bottomless hole of stupidity. This. I've mostly dug my way out and finally got rid of a lot of vintage synths. There are a few t...
