Re: Synth Fighters - Street Fighter compilation album

Ha, that's nostalgic. I always enjoyed how emotional Ryu's music was. Guile's tune was my favourite, this version's a bit too slow for my liking though!

Re: What synth should I buy for funk and prog?

Yeah, I understand this but would still encourage synth users to understand how their sounds are created. The OP is interested in pads and I've never came across a pad preset that didn't require or benefit from at least some tweaking to sit more comfortably in the mix. In fact, that goes for any kin...

Re: What synth should I buy for funk and prog?

Given that some synths are inherently better at producing certain sounds than others, should the question still not be more like "how do I programme vintage leads for funk?", for example, rather than "which synth has these sounds?" My answer to the original question is, there is an endless list of s...

Re: feedback on... old school jungle track if you please

I feel like I've outstayed my welcome at a grim party, it's 8am with the sun coming in and I'm asking myself ''what have I done?''. Therefore you nailed it! Sounding brilliant

Ha, you're not alone though, that feeling sucks. I'd say there are few musos who don't experience it at some stage. When the inspiration and fun happens again, which it always does, it will feel better than ever. Do you have any music online anywhere?

That's kind of like one of those Facebook statuses where the person writes something like ''I hate my life :('' and everyone responds ''chin up, buddy'' etc etc

Re: feedback on heavy industrial/ techno/ house track (apex,

Cool Yea vocal samples really do help add a strong human element to electronic music for sure. I definitely want to encorporate more of it! Definitely. This Ulrich track always reinforced that idea for me. A very simple vocal clip two and half minutes into this beautiful piece. The section with the...

Re: feedback on heavy industrial/ techno/ house track (apex,

Would like to hear some cut up vocal samples like TKK Good idea, although I'm not familiar with TKK either. I do think a vocal element makes a lot of electronica styles a little bit more engaging. The Stutter Edit plugin is a lot of fun to use for auto splicing (and much much more), you can go as s...

Really nice sounds and mix, I'm not so sure about the actual musical ideas though

Re: feedback on heavy industrial/ techno/ house track (apex,

thanks, yea it is guitar. s**t I didn't mean to go full pantera ! was going for more of a nine inch nails downward spiral sort of thing. Thanks though. Anyone else? Haha, no you've nailed that sound, it's probably closer to NIN and the mix is great. It's merely personal preference, I like certain e...

Sounding excellent, the only part I don't like is the Pantera guitar (if it is guitar) at 00.48

And to further heighten confusion, on Soundcloud, it's titled "Microkorg Xl + Microwave Preset Demos"? I think I could be forgiven!

Re: Sounds I did using the MicroKorgXL+

You should probably start learning synthesis so you can create your own sounds, and forget about crappy presets

Re: That point in which sequencing MIDI just seems like a ch

My most successful music was created in Logic with NI Massive and zero MIDI control. Mouse/pencil tool. I don't know where the inspiration at the time came from, but it eventually became pure hard work, soul destroying. Computer would go on, I would start composing with the same old approach and 2 m...

Nice, though I think the arpeggio is possibly a bit to clean and dry sounding?
