Re: Price discrepancies?

What I never get is why Americans keep bitching about VAT, but go to a store in the US and they add the state tax to the price tag afterwards so you never know precisely the actual amount that you'll actually end up paying.

A video featuring a bearded guy and me wearing no pants...

So here's another video for this project which I produce, called Berndsen. The song is called Monster Forest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycm1QK-X9z4 For those interested in the music production side of it, we have drums programmed in Reaper, some fretless bass action by a friend, a bit of TR-808...

Re: MicroBrute in space!

Thanks! It actually only took an hour or so to make. I think it shows how incredibly versatile this tiny little package is. I have both the Brutes, and actually find the Micro more tight than the Mini. They really polished a lot of things on it compared to the Mini, like the range of the envelope sl...

MicroBrute in space!

I was asked to do a space ambience last month for some entertainment show, and since I had a MicroBrute at hand, I decided, for my own amusement, to use nothing but the MicroBrute, and push it to see how many different usable sounds I could coax out of it. I found the end result very satisfactory, a...

Re: Bottom Ten Worst Synths of All Time

My list: -1)Gakken SX-150. Utter c**p. You thought the Monotron was bad? If you play this in a room full of people, expect them to be out of there within 1 minute of you trying to play a tune with that useless ribbon. Maybe you could count that as a good feature, if you're not that much into being l...

Re: s**t Luck With Vintage Gear

I concur with the others that it's just an inevitable part of the vintage game... Here's some of what I've lived with for years: Alpha Juno volume slider only works at max volume. Move it down at all and the sound dies. Polysix = wasted SH-101: broken pitch bend stick, weird tuning fluctuations whic...

Re: First impressions on the Mopho X 4

I've used the Mopho X4 extensively since getting it last January. I needed something analog polyphonic, yet portable all-in-one instrument to replace my aging aJuno1 as a main live synth, and I'm really happy with my choice. My favourite thing about it is probably the form factor. When I saw it for ...

Re: New Novation Bass Station?

I've been using the original Bass Station keyboard as one of my main live synths for a few years now. Just love how light and portable it is, and it definitely has a sound to its own. This will be interesting...

Re: What tuning intervals with 2 oscillators?

Another thing to do on 2osc polysynths is to set the osc interval to a minor 3rd and then you play 5ths on the keyboard = transposed min7 chords. Hurray.

Of course you could also set the interval to 5ths and play minor 3rds and get the same result! What fun!

Re: What tuning intervals with 2 oscillators?

One of the most interesting features of the Korg Mono/Poly is the "assign pitch bend to vco1" which in short, allows you to play one-note chords by setting the appropriate oscillator intervals but use the pitch wheel to determine if the chord played is major or minor. edit: by "one-note", I meant "o...

Maybe a Mopho x4? Nice analog poly (which you don't have I see) for a similar price.

Or just a good old Juno-106?

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

Ok, before that actually happens, have a look at this: [thumbnail]http://www.prosound.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/juno106insideaq2.jpg[/thumbnail] Look at how the program buttons (the parts of them that have endured the outside world for 25+ years) have started the discoloration process. They're ...
