Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

My collaborator and I have a Jupiter-6 each (yes we're decadent freaks) and there is a very noticeable colour difference between them. They are kept in the same studio space so the difference is quite evident. Mine is very black and shiny, whereas his has much more of a gray, matte texture. It's com...

Ok, that's good to know!

I'll try to hunt down some DD disks then to begin with. Ebay time I guess? [-X

Re: Quick Q about Ensoniq EPS

Well, I never got so far as to actually have a disk to put into the EPS. I followed these steps: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/271648/Hosting/eps.JPG ...but am stranded at step #7 because my computer doesn't boot up in RAMdisk mode. Instead it just sits there displaying a blinking dot after the floppy dr...

Re: Quick Q about Ensoniq EPS

I'm reviving this thread because I just scored an Ensoniq EPS for free. Hurrah! Looking forward to trying out the poly aftertouch, but like so many, I'm missing the damn OS disk  I've tried creating my own OS disk from here: http://www.chickensys.com/kb/eps-asr/026.html But with no luck. Does ...

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6

Having used the P600, AX60 and JP6 extensively, my conclusion is that neither the Prophet nor the Akai come close to the Roland in terms of musicality and everyday usability. The Jupiter is like a supersized Juno-106, as in the fact that it's one big creamy sweet-spot all the time. It is my go-to sy...

Re: Best Way to Sync JU-60 Arp to DAW

This, by the way, works for countless other devices which accept clock pulses. My favourite combo is TR707 -> SH101 sequencer Also fun is the Pro-One sequencer, Jupiter-6 arpeggiator, and CS10 trigger input, in combination with 707 pulses. Korg is a bit more problematic because synths like the Polys...

Re: Best Way to Sync JU-60 Arp to DAW

Exactly what Stabby said.

It's either:

DAW --- midi clock ---> 707sequencer ---> rimshot trigger out ---> Juno clock input

or:

DAW --- midi notes ---> 707 as midi module ---> rimshot trigger out ---> Juno clock input

Re: Best Way to Sync JU-60 Arp to DAW

The most fun method is without a doubt using a midi-synced TR-707 and using the rimshot/trigger out to clock the Juno's arpeggiator. This way you have a lot of flexibility. You can use the 707's step sequencer in sync with your DAW or you can use the 707 in midi-in mode and record more elaborate rim...

For a start, you only get signal to the left side of the headphones...
Maybe you should try this then:

If your modular system needs a lot of "current".
