Re: Polyphonic Midi to CV/Gate. Choices?

Many of these modules (Vermona included) are in Eurorack format, and require you to already have a case+power supply for such a system. If you don't have a Eurorack system, I think one of the few stand-alone options would be the Kenton Pro-2000. http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/m-cv/p2000.shtm...

Re: Polyphonic Midi to CV/Gate. Choices?

Hehe, tough crowd here, I know.

I don't know enough about the interfaces and their differences to tell you which one to pick. Haven't tried any of them myself, or even researched this seriously before I stumbled upon this thread...

Re: Trigger Out from MPC 1000

You just want a pulse that's at 0dBFS or thereabouts. You don't want an audio signal as that will have multiple potential trigger points, although they can sometimes work. Easiest way to do it is to get a synth with a square wave, record the lowest sound you can get from it with a single oscillator...

Re: Analogue & otherwise Educational Synthesizers

I read somewhere that the original idea for the Wurlitzer electric pianos was to enable a whole classroom full of piano students under the supervision of one teacher simultaneously, using headphones as to not disturb each other, and then the teacher could "tune in" to one student at a time and give ...

Re: Make high quality digi synth sound Exactly analogue

Next time I start a seriously misinformed analog vs digital thread, I'm also going to post it on all the other forums in existence in the universe, just to be completely sure that nobody on this planet can escape the vortex of my brain-numbing ignorance. I say in any of my analog question threads s...

Re: Polyphonic Midi to CV/Gate. Choices?

Sounds like a fun idea. I might get the Vermona Quad and make a polysynth out of my SH-101, SH-2, Prodigy and Pro-One :) The intriguing factor is precisely the fact that none of the voices have a chance in h**l of sounding identical to each other, as in your average polysynth. I wonder if any of the...

Re: vermona mono lancet sounds bloody amazing!

Yeah, a friend of mine has it, and I'm quite pleased with its sound compared to many of the new analogs out there. Knobs feel nice too. My only gripe with it is that the only way to change the pulse width of the oscs is via midi cc, but I guess the sneaky chaps at Vermona may have done that on purpo...

Re: largest monophonic that was mass produced

Yeah, it's just chunky overall. Look how much space there is between the last key on the right until the synth ends...

I actually have its big brother, the SX-400. It pretty much defines "chunky".

Re: largest monophonic that was mass produced

No, it's the so-called "educational version" of the KORG MS20.

It was designed by KORG to be used in classrooms to teach signal flow and synthesis. The idea was that you could hang it on a wall/blackboard, and the whole class could easily see the knob settings and patching from their seat.

Re: largest monophonic that was mass produced

What about the "education version" of the MS20? Not really a one-off, but probably not a very big production run either.

Re: New Roland TR-50 Analog Drum Machine

Sorry I guess I didn't put enough winks on there hehe.

My gf woke me up today, saying that she read in the news that a rabid wolf had escaped from Antwerp Zoo and authorities were telling people to stay inside. I got quite scared for a few minutes until I realized the date...

Back on topic! Is it VCO or does it have real DCO's?
