Re: My Dream Synth From Roland
OK, I would go for no sampling and no touchscreen, keeping it nice and simple. To me, having an all in one all singing all dancing synthesizer with this and that and a trillion arpeggiator patterns is silly. Sooo, kinda like the JP8000? That´s enough to spend an entire life over it. I would add not...

Re: My Dream Synth From Roland
That´s enough to spend an entire life over it. I would add nothing to the V synth´s interface. They already made it almost perfect. Colour touch screen? OK, what colour scheme would you give it? I always felt that the 80's colour schemes were gross and awkward looking. I think the V-Synth is very a...

Specifically 2.0 was released with a ton of samples and 512 presets made by musicians and sound designers in the industry.

Re: New Korg Kronos????
Found this videoing floating around the interwebs... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKnSqARidMQ&feature=player_embedded#at=581 I met the guy doing the demo when he was traveling around to guitarcenters meeting with the sales associates. He was not a normal rep, and decided he liked me so much that h...

One note of polyphony is enough for Wendy Carlos.

Re: Moving- Getting it all there...
I had to move across state a few years ago. I luckily had a carrying case for one of my synths. The other two (at the time) I found boxes for from guitar center and wrapped them in the blankets and towels that I would have had to pack anyway. Then stuffed them in to two seperate boxes. I was taking ...

Re: Cheat sheets
I keep a 11x17 piece of paper on top of my monitor that details the midi and audio routing of my setup. Things get a little complicated when you are running 8 or more devices through a trs patchbay, mixer, effects processors, midi interface and audio interface. The paper seemed faster than keeping a...

I am surprised I have not seen the V-Synth mentioned.
The intuitive interface may mislead you to believe that all of the editable parameters are what is in front of you, but holy cow is there a lot of stuff "under the hood" so to speak.

Re: Roll-up keyboards
I agree that they really are a toy. A lot of people sell them used for around $15-$20 so if you wanted to get one for the novelty of it, you are welcome to.

Re: Why do people hate the alesis SR16?
I bought the SR16 shortly after I started working at guitarcenter. I nearly immediately sold it to another employee for more than I paid for it. I enjoyed using it's sequencer, especially compared to the rx15, but f**k the sounds sucked. If I was making 80's ballad rock I would totally dig it, but n...

Sequencer/Drum machine General
Rather than a drum synthesizer thread, how 'bout a drum machine general thread!? I think I am going to drop the cash on the EMU XL-7. The more I play with it the more fun it becomes. DR-202 - Classic Roland drum sounds. Has an ok sequencer but can be a bit of a pain in the a*s sometimes. Onboard fil...

Re: hi again. has everyone gone a little soft
I remember technomonster! holy cow!
Anywho. I use hardware for sound generation and software for audio and midi sequencing. I am currently looking at a EMU XL7 to do midi and drum sequences with, but I'm on the fence about the purchase.
