You have to order a new chip for the OS update? I thought ( I believe from the vintagesynth page for the evolver) Yeah on the VSE page it says "The internal computer and DSP chips can be reprogrammed via MIDI, for easy bug fixes, OS updates and feature additions." There is a 3rd party editor for the BCR where programming sysex makes it the BCR's strong point... ALL parameters are now available. Even the sequencer and matrix if you desire... always wanted one and when i read this mths Future Music article on Alec Empire and saw he had one i though wow. (well he has a fk load of synths and stuff in general but still its almost eliteist to have one). hehehe

Lately ive been contemplating keeping my evolver as i really do love the sounds that come out of this thing. kvnvk sold me his Nord Rack 3 and it was very well packed (rack packed in original box with end foam pieces and bubble wrap, then placed in a bigger box with foam and peanuts). :) yay
