I've never ever played with one, and i'm needing a sampler that can play long samples i.e. 1-2 minutes in length. Is the mpc1000 capable of long sample playback? i know the roland sp series can play long samples, but they're not functional enough in my arsenal...

I think it has potential to be fun, the "sad analog strings" patch is pretty rad! that is the most applicable sound i thought... the rest is too chippy for what i am currently working on. the price is stellar!
