Ive tried both VCS3 and AKS and the are truly the best.

A cheap alternative is the Teisco 110f with its great LFO and filterbank.

The Teisco was superior to my Pro-One in this field.

The MS-20 is also realy good for this stuff.

Ecscuse me, but you ssem to miss a TB-303. :o

Ive collected acid records for 15 years, and when I have to sell or trade some its always the ones without real 303 that has to go

Ive gigged with my former CS-50 one time, and i had no problem with tuning...

Its very heavy but once you have it place you have great control with the aftertouch.

At the Amorphous Androgynos album "Tales of ephidrina", wich I think came at the same time as Lifeforms, the used Moog system 55, Arp 2600, Synthi AKS and a lot more stuff.

So perhaps it's not only samplers and studiotechique.

I dont have any drum-machines of my own right now, so I use samples of DR-55, cr-78, tr606, tr707, tr808, tr,909,my synths or real drums. But some of my friends lends me machines from time to time, the above mentioned. And when I dont have any, I prefer samples that I made myself. To: i_watch_stars,...
