Re: midi and cv clocks
I have been trying to figure out something similar the last few weeks and I still can't get it. I want to send 2x tempo from Ableton to my sp-12. I can't figure out a way to do it with midi and I have been trying to use the click input on the sp-12. I can get it to sync at regular speed if I turn th...

how to read circuit diagram for dr-110 midi mod
Today I'm going to try to mod my dr-110 for midi sync. It's a pretty easy and well documented process to do it with din-sync. But I got this pic chip from ebay that's programmed to convert midi clock to din-sync and the guy programmed it to half the rate so it will basically drop in for the dr-110. ...

Re: Dr-110 button issue
Alright, I fixed it! I emailed that guy at the site you linked and he said something about people leaving in batteries and them leaking on the cpu board. Then it got me thinking about how there was one via right next to the cpu that I scraped off some corrosion when I first opened it up. I guess I j...

Re: Dr-110 button issue
I just got the chip off a guy in town. I think it's okay. What are the odds of the replacement chip having the same issue as the one I took out? I don't know. Thanks for the site. I didn't know about test mode. But it gets weirder. I put it in test mode and hit every button once and it says okay. I ...

Re: Dr-110 button issue
Thanks. Yeah, IC3 is the 4011b. I thought that would be it since the button groups (5,6,7,8 and start, stop, bank) that have the issue go into the chip, so I got one and replaced it, but it still does the same thing.

Re: Dr-110 button issue
Yeah, rubber/membrane buttons. I checked around and couldn't find a short anywhere. I cleaned the switches pretty well, but I've been running it out of the case without the button strip so nothing is physically connected button-wise. I thought maybe one of the dual diodes was bad so I swapped a few ...

Re: Dr-110 button issue
Damn, I was wrong. I replaced the 4011B chip and it still does the same thing. Anybody have any ideas? There's really not a lot going on here. I just don't really know what I'm looking at. Is it possible the CPU is corrupted and causing this?

Re: Dr-110 button issue
I cleaned the buttons last night and was running it outside of the case with the button membrane off to make sure it wasn't somehow just constantly pressed and it was doing the same thing. I swapped around two of the 3pin diodes; 5 and 8 to see if it changed anything and it still does the same thing...

Dr-110 button issue
I posted this on another forum but I don't know how much traffic it gets. This might be a simple electronics question but I don't know a whole lot so I appreciate any help. I got a dr-110 on ebay. It almost works but is stuck on pattern 8. It's like the 8 button is constantly being pressed. All othe...

Re: mpc1000 vs mpc200/2000xl
I think the 1000 is easier to use. I like the CF card. I didn't like on the 2000 that you sometimes need to click 'open window' to get to a parameter. It was almost like things were hidden. The build quality of the 2000 is not that good. I would say they are about equal. Displays die on the 2000 and...

Re: Alesis MMT-8 vs MPC500
But I can't remember if you can transpose 'live' on the mmt-8. I think you might have to stop for it too, but I'm not sure. It's been awhile since I sold mine.

Re: Alesis MMT-8 vs MPC500
I'm not sure about transposing. It depends a lot on the os. I have jjos2xl and I can transpose all tracks, but I have to stop to do it. On my mpc 3000 I could do it in real time. On jjos3 I think you can do it in real time, I'm not 100%. No idea about the akai os.

Re: Alesis MMT-8 vs MPC500
In my experience, an mmt-8 is not as quick to use as an mpc (I have a 1000). Setting up the tracks and having to stop to quantize them bummed me out. I went through the same thing you're going through now and got rid of the mmt-8 and went with an mpc 1000. One of the main reasons being the memory ea...

Re: Pro One Replacement
I just use a desktop evolver. The sounds can get pretty close. Takes more work on the evolver. Pro-one isn't exactly small. I think my entire live setup fits in the volume of the pro-one or pretty close.
Mopho might be even closer and it's cheaper and smaller.

Microkorg Knob Behavior / Original Value
Just got a Microkorg to use live and I can't tell what's going on. So when I got it, I was under the impression that turning the knobs (before you go into editing) didn't do anything until you reached the original point. But I think I changed something because now it will jump to whatever the instan...
