Re: Studio Electronics Boomstar 4075

Within the first week of getting the 4075 I started hearing Arp 2600 sounds that I had heard from favorite bands of mine that used the Arp 2600. It's funny because I own an ATC-Xi and never felt it could do 2600, but when I bought the 4075 I was getting the same sounds I've heard from other bands th...

Re: New Tom Oberheim OB-X rumors?

I would love an OB-X. The SEM is great, but I think I'm more of an OB-X type. That's too bad he's having some setbacks currently.

Re: Razor---another new synth from NI

Ooo, I might have to try this out. I loved the sound the of the Kawai K5000 and am looking to find an additive that can get close.

Re: SUNSYN mk2

Got an email from Juergen and it sounds like there is a new purple color being used for the Sunsyn. The Ruthinium knobs looks pretty sweet on the old faceplate:

Re: Most physically attractive synths

There's a lot of them, but aren't the most physically attractive, ones with tons and tons of knobs. I like semi modulars like the Cwejman S1 and FRXS. I think if my PEK had those silver metal knobs, it couldn't be beat.

For this question, isn't any other name, not Moog, blasphemy.

Re: Are you glad synths aren't more popular?

The OP question is a tough one. Mainly because I do enjoy hearing more synth stuff on the radio. But at the same time, especially in the techno crowd, sounds and preset patches get done to death. Still, I'd lean towards hearing more synths even if presets are used. I think synths give music much mor...

How's everyone liking the newest Reaktor? Seems like the workflow was supposed to improve somewhat. That thing is so deep, I would think that would be a big improvement ala Logic.

Re: I'm thinking about getting into virtual synths!

I have Omnisphere and Trillian. I run both of them from my external hard drive. The more Ram in your computer the better. Use a external 7200rpm hd. I'm not going to touch SSD until they become really cheap.

Re: What I picked up for $150 today

I love some beat up boards for cheap. Still great sound, but for peanuts with a couple set-backs. Sometimes it's more fun to deal with the set backs. Like my P600 I bought for $200 a few years ago, can't play in poly mode, but I love it in mono anyways.

Great to hear this! Turnaround... Well, being that I never thought Korg would make an analog again, who knows what the Big 3 could accomplish if they really wanted to. This is a start.

Re: New FS1r computer editor

I use this editor which is nice for the Mac:

I wish there was a Mac version of this FSEQ editor, this looks cool:

Dang, I wish I could edit the FSEQ.
