My 1st Modular module!

Here it is! Just bought and being shipped to me now. I have a 2 row G6 rack. I'm going to be setting it up to process my current synths. I don't think I'm going to get any VCOs for now. Hoping to get some good vocal like sounds out of this one. http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/3986/a104sae2.jpg An...

I'd just like to play it because I know I'll never own one unless I get extremely rich. I just can't spend what they go for. But the filter is the machine. Seems really flexible. I think a modular company should make a filter clone of it. That's what I'm getting more into.

I am in love with my ATC-X!!! With 4 different filters and modern stable VCOs, filter overdrive... it covers so much ground and is such a joy to play. I sold every other synth I own. Now all I want is the Omega 8... I think it blows away most mono synths and for the used price of under $1000 all yo...

Thanks for the links guys! I read those, although they don't say specifically that those sounds were 'Woodblock' samples from the Emax. That 'Sin' sound isn't a Woodblock sound too is it? It doesn't sound like it. It sounds more like a Prophet VS that wasn't processed much.

there's an interview in Keyboard from way back where Trent details a lot of the PHM sounds. Most of the it is Emax, VS and Minimoog. The off-kilter riff at the end of "Terrible Lie" is an Emax playing a woodblock sample, most likely with the sample rate as low as it goes... they made really cool gr...

I'm not really after the sound (although the Terrible Lie sound - at the end is awesome). I just want to know what the heck he used, because I've never heard that sound played by anyone else. I know Terrible lie has the Xpander in it in the verse and I also think in the chorus.. But that crunchy sou...

To me, that would just be incredible if the Xpander can sound like that (as on 'That's what I get'), because that sound sounds completely digital run through some analog components. But FM through a bit reducer is a good logic sound idea that it could be. Maybe a VS run through a bit reducer? Can th...

NIN Pretty Hate Machine Crunchy Digital synths?

OK, well I know an Xpander (which I think was used the most), Prophet VS, I think a Minimoog, and an Emu sampler were used on this album. Now everyone might be reading this post and see I say 'think a Minimoog' because I have not used one. Now you might also say that I said a Prophet VS was used. Th...

I'm selling my ATC-X. I love it and will get another, but I have to sell it right now. I posted pics and a full description of my unit (and about me) here in the classifieds:

Have fun with it when you get it! For those that don't know a good album to hear the Sirius on, listen to KMFDM's album called ADIOS. I saw the tour and they used it on stage, but I also owned the Sirius and hear it all over the album. Most of the synthetic sounds on ADIOS seem to be the Sirius. I p...

By far, the Polymorph. The Polymorph can do stuff no other VA can and the step sequencer is to die for. Sequencing detunes and waveforms, whatever you want to sequence, you can different values for ach of the steps for any parameter. No other groovebox has done this (except the Polymorph's older bro...

That song has Xpander written all over it. Near the end of the song is the only place I hear VS from 3:30 to the end. I owned a VS for a short while and man was it easy to recognize the VS all over the PHM album after playing the VS. That's a woodblock timestretched sample... that's pretty dang cool...

Hinotori, I PMed you. Check your PM box. Yeah, I know what you mean as far old samplers pissing you off. Old samplers don't cut it for me sometimes, mainly because of my lack of connecting with the sampler, but also because of a lack of good interfaces. Newer hardware units are becoming about what I...

I remember Nettwerk, SP's label at the time wanted SP to sound like NIN did back in 94. You know what though, I think this day and age things are getting really tough for musicians and bands. Either sell out or die almost. So I think the most important thing is not whether we like, but if Trent is r...
