Re: Has the ER-1 mk2 passed into collector's status?

Collector's status and Electribe together has never crossed my mind. You have to wait until they stop making them. Then you can up the price $500 and it will then be a collector item. ;)

Re: Microwave 1

The Microwave 1 is one of my favorite synths and frankly I'm glad no one likes, because I'm blown away by it personally. I think it can cut through pretty good. If I were to liken the sound of the Microwave 1 to anything, I would compare it to thunder. It sounds like it. It's a very hifi synth that ...

Re: Dave Smith MEK discussion

Has anyone thought about putting different knobs on the Evolver? I'd like to put some chrome ones on. It looks absolutely gorgeous. The only thing I'm unsure about is how you find knobs that will fit the encoders since they have a half moon shape to them. I know knob values can jump, but the Deoxit ...

Re: oberheim matrix 1000

That's a shame the Matrix 1000 seems so cryptic. Never hear much about this, but have heard from many that it has a nice sound. I bet there is a software editor, maybe like Soundquest, that has an editor.

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

This synth is a bargain and that price point is fantastic. DSI doesn't cease to amaze me how they are able to put out nice gear for cheap. I think the Mopho should've had a desktop Evolver like matrix to make editing quicker. This keyboard version will make it much better to tweak and it looks fanta...

Re: Doepfer Dark Energy patch save

That's a really cool template. I like digi cameras too for patch storage, but that's a whole lot better than what I use to do when I'd drawn my own template on paper, copy it a hundred times and draw little ticks on the knobs and sliders.

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Curious about the bass the SEM can produce. I haven't heard any really beefy bass clips of it. Or maybe is this just not it's thing. What's your opinion on it's bass? It's a very dreamy synth, but I'm mainly wondering about how punchy and thick it can get in the bass dept.

Re: Your opinion Source Vs. Little Phatty

The interface of the LP is fantastic. Love it. I think the sound of both are extremely comparable. They sound very close. Some people could possibly tell you different. I noticed a bigger difference with the Voyagers sound. I thought the Osc on it sounded smoother than the LP or Source. The LP is a ...

Re: dsi evolver sequencer

So it will send out a high note even if you select it to be off? That means you have to use one of the 4 sequencers for velocity then.

Nice droning. I don't need more synths, but this keeps nudging me.

Re: So long Voyager Old School

I have no remorse for the Voyager OS. Only for the fact that others might like having no storage and might click with them, but for me it doesn't click. I like having my synths without storage, but at the same time I rather just designate patch #1 as a blank and go from there, while retaining the aw...

Re: mono synth advice...

Listen to clips on youtube. You will hear which one you like. (This shouldn't be based on - I personally like this synth, so you should buy it too, both are nice) The only other thing I can say is that it is a nicer feeling buying and supporting a modern synth company, which can in turn allow them t...

Re: Dave Smith Poly Evolver

Depends on if you want poly analog. The new SEM is as smooth and organic you can get, along with the AS Telemark. The PEK is definitely a synth you go to get analog vibe. Lots of analog power in there. Depends on how perceptive you are to really raw analog like Macbeth stuff, because the PEK can do ...

Re: NEW DSI MOPHO SYNTH KEYBOARD COMING IN LATE APRIL

You guys know that the Mopho KB can fully control a Tetra, right? Mopho KB + Tetra = 5 voice Tetra Kbd, so from at least the coverage point of view, a Tetra Kbd is not really needed. Now, given that you can also buy a Prophet 8, it wouldn't make much sense for DSI to put out a Tetra Kbd! That would...
