Re: Silver DX7?

I second that. Definitely some kind of metal imitation strip. If he would have taken the time to re-write the original texts with some paint or something it wouldn't be that bad. I admit that the original "sh** brown" color is not really that nice... To my taste of course. If really like "sh** brown...

Re: Samplers - the forgotten synthesizers?

I couldn't live without my E-Synth. It's an amazing synth with huge modulation possibilties. The user interface is well tought and, IMHO, there still no synth with possibilities like that. The software version is very clean and is based on the EOS, but the filters are still software and just "too cl...

Re: M-Audio Midisport 8x8 Install problem

I've cheked with Google, and you don't seem to be the only one having that problem. I haven't found any solutions to it... M-Audio have a knowledge base, but you might want to send them an email. One thing you could try is to install the 8X8 alone on another computer (if you can). At least to see if...

Re: M-Audio Midisport 8x8 Install problem

Do you have at least SP2 installed for your XP?

Is the unit recognized at all by the OS?

I've been thinking of buying the MVW Karma programing software from Karma Lab. But if I do that, when will I have time for making music... good point :D may be when we got a more predictable Karma such as the Karma 2 synths like the M3. The current Karma version is 2.something. I think there might ...

I agree a Ribbon controller would have been nice. Specially since they support it as a modulator... By going at http://www.karma-lab.com/mw/karma-mw.html You get a better picture of what it is. Still, I think it's like sex : we can explain in many ways, but you won't really know 'till you try it for...

What IS that Karma engine really? What's special about it? It's a sort of really smart arpeggiator which is based on algorithms instead of patterns. It can send CC's and other MIDI events. There is a software from Karma Lab which enables you to program new algorithms. Check out a bunch of demos for...

I've had my Karma with Moss for about 4 or 5 months and it's a really fun synth to fool around with. I used the Karma engine to drive almost all my synths and it works to a certain extent. The engine sends MIDI Note on/off and a bunch of CC's. So sometimes, it just makes a mess, and sometimes the re...

The screen is limited in what is displays. And you have to press the same buttons on and on to change OSC and other stuff. It's not impossible, as I did some editing of existing patches with it. But to start from scratch is quite a challenge. Using a software editor is much easier to see what you ar...

I've one for a while. I had found some patches somewhere for the ESQ1. The editor that is free is esq138. The problem is that you can't use a keyboard to send note on. You have to use the little keyboard... Anyways, you can always do with it. Nothing is impossible I guess. Editing I find IS a pain i...

Sorry friend. Just can't. I'm allergic...

I tried Crystal, and besides taking a huge load on CPU, it does sound nice.

E-mu E-Synth Dance internal HD cables

Hello fellow synth lovers! I just got an E-synth classic (to upgrade from my E64), and there are no power cables for the internal drive... It looks like there is a 4 pin connector on the MB to install some kind of cable for that. Does anyone have either: 1- Have an idea what I'm talking about. 2- Ha...
