Re: Annoying Roland D-50 Keyboard clicking sound

I got it about a year ago and it came like that, I think.

Number 1 option sounds possible.
I guess I'll have to open it and see.

Thanks a lot.

Annoying Roland D-50 Keyboard clicking sound

My D-50 makes an annoying clicking sound from some of the keys. Before I decide to open it, I want to know if someone knows something about this.

Re: Freeware or open source audio editor...

It looks like a cool idea. But it's a DAW, not a sample editor.

The concept is really nice.

Re: Freeware or open source audio editor...

Thanks. I just bumped into that one 5 minutes ago while going into Audacity Forums...

I don't understand why it has not come up in my searches before...
Do you have any experience with it?
If so, how do you find it?

Re: Freeware or open source audio editor...

I tried Audacity. I think it would be complete if there was a nice loop editor. It's the only thing it misses... Reaper, I have it. I dumped Cubase for Reaper. It's light, the community is great and the developers give a s**t about people. But you can't compare with Audacity, as they are two very di...

Freeware or open source audio editor...

Well I've been searching a lot. One that supports loop editing and saving the data in the wav so i can SMDI the wav to my samplers.

Has anyone found one on Windows that works?

Re: Esi32/2000/4000 software preset editor

The E-mu E4 screen has a graphic view of the sample's wave, like in the software world. BUT, I've these for several years and it still won't beat editing on the computer. I've used XTrakk many times with my E4, and it works fine as you have found out. I'm about to probably get an ESI-32 and read the...

Re: Vintage samplers: dealing with memory limitations

I like using very very short samples such as single-cycled ones. I use me samplers as synths, not much into looping phrases and stuff like that. So I could sample a few of my synths mixed at the same time and remove data from the sample until I have the smallest possible size of sample that keeps th...

Re: Roland S-550: clean/dirty?

Hey Sir Ruff... Haven't been much around the past months, and I just saw this thread. I have a S-550, with monitor, mouse and... SCSI (lucky me). I haven't spent 100 hours on it, but it came a a huge pile of floppies, and I tested modifying the waves etc. It does sound clean for a 12bit machine, BUT...

Macbook Pro and SCSI SMDI

Hello all, I've been trying to find info on people who had success with this... I'd like to be able to transfer samples to/from my E-Mu E-Synth and Yamaha A3000. I have a MBP with an Express 34 slot. I know there are Firewire to SCSI and USB to SCSI that exists, but I did not see anyone using them s...

Re: Programs for converting wav to ESI?

If you have SCSI card on your PC, can't you just use SMDI to tranfert wavs to and from ESI?
I have E4's, Yams and that's pretty much the trick.

I don't know if the ESI supports SMDI, but if it does and you have the PC SCSI card, try that.

Re: Later E-mu sampler questions (E6400/EIII, ESI, etc.)

If it supports SMDI, which I tend to think it does, then you can upload any samples you want. So it becomes less of a limitation...

From what i understand, these machines are cheaper digital versions of the EIII. But knowing E-Mu since the 80's, there digital filters sound really really good.
