Check this

It's not very complete. There seems to be a link to a manual, but I haven't tried it.

Re: Roland R 8 drum patterns search...

It has 32 patterns in "ROM". But 4 of them are usable with electro pop techno style. I have no intentions to begin to play BossaNova, and if I do, I hope someone shoots me before the suffering starts! It's a good idea using the sysex word, I should have thought of that, I will live in shame from now...

Roland R 8 drum patterns search...

Hello! No sure what section this question should be in. I bought an R 8 for christmas (my present I made myself) and it's completely "cleaned". My main use for this is for jamming on beats... So I've been searching for patterns for this machine on the web and i just can't find any. Does anyone here ...

Re: Later E-mu sampler questions (E6400/EIII, ESI, etc.)

Oh, I see. I didn't know 4.7 read PC. I have classic E4's, so no 4.7. It's tempting to get and Ultra...

But, if you have one or more 2 gb CF, I still don't see the point of having an internal drive AND a CF. (And, I don't like HD because of the noise they cause, but that's just me.)

Re: Later E-mu sampler questions (E6400/EIII, ESI, etc.)

I you get that combo CF/CD, why would you buy an internal drive?
Isn't it a bit redundant?

Re: Later E-mu sampler questions (E6400/EIII, ESI, etc.)

18 GB = two dual layer DVDs. And yes you can disconnect the floppy. Several people on emusonacid have replaced their floppy drives with CF card readers or removable hard drives. The unit I did that to is am E-64, and it just would not boot without the floppy. I also have an E-Synth classic but have...

Re: Later E-mu sampler questions (E6400/EIII, ESI, etc.)

Just a thing about the drives. Maybe some will not agree, but anyways, I have zip drives on all my samplers (2 E4 and a A3000). The reasons I did that are: 1- Noiseless. When you are not reading/writing, they make no noise. 2- It might only be 100mb, but the disks are easy to find for cheap. 3- A 10...

Re: Did I make a nice trade? Karma/Moss for Ax-60 and D-50

It's cool you get to have fun with your Karma. Like I wrote, the sound is nice and the KARMA function can be cool. It juts doesn't fit my style. Funny you compare to a Dx7. It was one of the first synths I got. A used 2 years old (yeah, Im getting old), and I've had some form of FM one way or anothe...

Both K station and Juno are nice, but are worth more than 250$.

Re: Help deciding a beginner Synthesizer?

I agree a synth like the sh-201 will help understanding "the mechanics" and basics of synthesis. VST is a programming interface from Steinberg, who make Cubase, Nuendo. There are different others like Directx, RTAS (Pro Tools) and AU (Component on Apple). But it's juts the programming interface whic...

Re: Did I make a nice trade? Karma/Moss for Ax-60 and D-50

And so I have spent time integrating my 2 synths and playing with them. I like, I like. What happened is that, I go thru Cubase to control the synths, I ended up playing a sound from tha Ax60, the D-50, a Mks-50 and a poly-800 all at the same time. Talk about layers! It sounded like a ton of bricks....

Re: Help deciding a beginner Synthesizer?

Just found on MySpace. Not my style but not bad at all. The thing is you could do that type of sound with a lot of synths. From the sound of it, it sounds like a lot of either VST's or virtual analogs. If you really want a hardware synth, I don't think you'll find much. I would suggest you try softw...

Re: Help deciding a beginner Synthesizer?

It's kinda large of a question... It depends the type of music you make, what you wanna do with it and your budget. Start by defining that, then start googling about synths, the different synths types and so on. THEN post a more precise question. People will be happy to help out if you do that! You ...
