Re: Did I make a nice trade? Karma/Moss for Ax-60 and D-50

Thanks for your support Balma! Peace of mind it is! Haha I agree with you programming the Karma takes way too much time for my taste as well. The KARMA arp is really cool for demos and just f?%ing around, but for serious stuff, I never found a way to make use of it. I don't find the sound that cheez...

Re: Did I make a nice trade? Karma/Moss for Ax-60 and D-50

The Karma is a nice synth. Had it for 2 years, just doesn't fit with me. The KARMA feature is nuts. I found it really cool to just play and improvise something. It's definitely worth a try. The thing I'll miss the most is the touch of keyboard. I really liked it. If I could have "kept" the MOSS, I w...

Re: Did I make a nice trade? Karma/Moss for Ax-60 and D-50

Z, I saw on ebay that both the Karma and the moss do for around 550$ each. I lost a bit, I know, but the Karma, like the Motif I had before are really nice but just not "it". I was using it mostly as a controller. I had been wanting an Ax-60 AND a D-50 for while, but people ask way too much. I know ...

Re: One is not enough!

are those the E4 XT or two diferent models? They all are E4 at the base, but one is an E64 and the other an E-Synth. They have different sample rom and presets in them. I managed to get the samples/presets for the E64s rom, but I prefer keeping it anyways. I can't live without an E4 of some sort. S...

Re: Did I make a nice trade? Karma/Moss for Ax-60 and D-50

You are right. I worry too much.
If I don't like them, I'll trade for something else!

Money-wise it comes to about the same.

Thanks Sir

Did I make a nice trade? Karma/Moss for Ax-60 and D-50

Synths, like sex, I can never get enough. I had a Karma with th MOSS card in it. Sounded nice, nice keyboard but never had that "oompf" I like from synths. I put an add and I ended up trading it for a minty clean D-50 and almost as clean Akai Ax-60. Like many trades, I sort of have a funny feeling t...

Re: One is not enough!

I have 2 E-Mu E4's... The oldest is a E-64, has the E-Synth ROM and the backlight is dead. I use it for the ROMS and in case my main one, the E-Synth Classic Dance dies or somethin. This perticular E-Synth model did not come with the E-Synth ROM, it came with Phat and Orbit roms or something. It's a...

Re: Congratulations: you're a f***ing synth addict again!

I'm a synth addict. I haven't bought a synth in over year, I can't afford anything anymore. I would have to sell my wife, my kids and my cat to keep buying stuff. But what am i thinkging! I should really be ashamed of myself. ONE WHOLE YEAR NOT BUYING GEAR. So, I have a nice wife and 2 kids for sale...

Re: Wich sampler will you buy without hesitate

No - the EIV is not an embedded PC - it's really the last in the line of the traditional Emulator series and it's a fine piece of kit which is now great value for money. The EII and the EIII are now becoming very expensive to buy. For me, though, there was some magic lost with the newer models. I p...

Re: Wich sampler will you buy without hesitate

One vote for you here Hideaway. But... Do you consider E4s a PC? I have one, and it sounds really good and pretty warm. It doesn't beat the real EIII in fatness for sure, but for synth like programming, it kills. And it kills a lot of synths as well. The modulation possibilities in these things is j...

Re: What Vintage Synth Would You Like to See Back in Production?

I'd like a remake of the Korg Polysix, Jupiter 8 and the Emulator III.

Re: korg dw 8000 overated or not ?

I had one for a while, I didn't find it very inspiring. I really tried to push it to the limit but was bleh on most things. I will say this, it is a very nice sounding synth, but it is also very limited. The digital delay is nice because you can get some cool phasing effects, but mostly I was looki...

Re: korg dw 8000 overated or not ?

I ended up selling mine with no regrets and continually seeing the praise it gets makes me wonder if I missed something. I had an EX-8000 and it didn't do much for me. The unison was cool on it, no doubt. If I saw it cheap enough, I might be inclined to give it another shot. The first time I had tr...

Re: korg dw 8000 overated or not ?

It's one of the fattest, largest sounding synth I've had and tried. In fact, some pads are so large it's hard to make them fit in a mix. I fail to see how you can find thin... Really, it's the first time I see a comment of the Dw8000 as thin. Mine has been at the repair shop, and it's the piece I mi...

Re: Ensoniq ESQ1 CPR Needed

All the issues i've had with my ESQ-1 have resulted from the 5 internal fuses. I picked it up as a busted synth but found it just needed a new fuse. It just died again today as a result of moving house, but it looks to be a fuse again. Makes me want to just buy 'broken' synths and see if they can't...
