Re: The "Why multiple samplers"

I guess it comes down to what kind of music we make, and how well we understand the sampler unit itself.

Thanks

Re: The "Why multiple samplers"

That's major. You could process a whole track like that to get some pretty crazy sound!

I really need to experiment with my sampler as processing units, and not only as sophisticated synths.

Re: The "Why multiple samplers"

Yep, the output of a synth and/or pedals enter the A/D input - I then have 3 fx blocks to use on that live input. Part of the reason I love the A5K as a synth preamp is because it is so good at adding dirt, artifacts, and color. It can be clean, but it excels at making things dirty, at least in my ...

Re: The "Why multiple samplers"

You are not disgressing at all. I may have not been clear enough. Your explanation is quite on part with the kind of info I look for. I agree with you that E4's filter are really powerful and warm. I bought the S-550 with mostly drums, and some loer-fi synths, in mind. But since I have it, I found o...

Re: The "Why multiple samplers"

Different samplers = different breeds...different control, different sounding filters/envelopes/output paths etc. If you can't tell the difference in the sound of them, all thee more reason to keep them both...so that eventually you CAN tell the difference We all know they are different. The questi...

Re: The "Why multiple samplers"

Yamaha A5000 because it is a wealth of resources for the creative programmer, and I really like its effects - so much so that I use it as a synth preamp. I suppose you put the output of a synth thru the A/D input. I use to have a A3000 and I found that it was kind of slow on some realtime things an...

The "Why multiple samplers"

Hello people, Well, I admit I'm in a "hole" of ideas these times. I own 2 samplers, and I've been asking myself lately as to why people have multiple different samplers (and why I got the second why in the first place, but that's a different story). I've add a E64 (and an E-Synth lately for 100$ so ...

Re: Wavestation patches

Dan Philip's site is definitly a good one for the Wavestation. When I got mine, I tried MusiQuest and Sound Tower's editor and I found the Sound Tower's was better "adapted" to the Wavestation. But, I tried them. I'm not a fan of software editor's for keyboards. Prefer being on the keyboard itself. ...

Re: Wavestation patches

Weird. What I have downloaded here and there on the net, that I have tried, have everything. The only annoying thing I have found is that the Bank number is included in the sysex, and I haven't got the time to figure out where to "fix" the file. I didn't test all of them, I prefer to make my own whe...

Re: Whats your studio workhorse?

It's funny there is a thread about this. I've been wondering myself, in all that I have, which one would be the main beast. And I have none... I mean, I haven't found it yet. My E-synth been my most loved piece for many years, but things change. So lately I changed my approach. I use mainely the sof...

Re: Looks like everyone has caught onto Ensoniq synths

I've add ESQ since it's creation. I've always found them flexible and the sound is really fat and nice. But I would never pay 700$ for that. I don't know what the h**l is wrong with people but so many of them ask ridiculous prices. I've been looking at an add for a AKai AX-60 for 700$ 9yeas 7004 as ...

Re: Anyone have a copy of A3K Disky?

Go for the SCSI card... A3K Disky did read the waves, but you loose all loop info...
I know, I used it a long time ago, when I had a Mac at work.
Not sure if I have that anymore...

Re: Sniffing on a Roland S550. Experiences?

Well, I wish it was you who bought it then, klovn, so I could come and visit it sometime soon :) I just imagine how cool a sampler with separate monitor must be like. Get that fairlight-ish feeling. But alas, I stalled too long and lost the chance to get it. Should probably just have bought it imme...

Re: Allow me to be the first to b***h about the new Macbooks

Design wise, it's nice. But it's still in the same line as the older ones. As for the 400FW, I didn't know it using the 800 one. It's true that FW is falling of the earth, being pushed by USB2. But USB2 doesn't have the sustained rate that FW does. It's all a question of ownerships. If Apple, Sony a...
