Re: 8bit osc+Analog filter synth

The other option of course, if you're slightly masochistic would be the Mirage.
Then you can theoretically load anything from nes or sid wavesamples to your own farts in 8 bit glory then smash it all through its analogue filter.

Re: 8bit osc+Analog filter synth

I'd like to strike any reference to the SID and my comments about warmth from the record... :)

 For some reason I was thinking the analogue stage was contentious. Carry on.

chiptune = digital ...why are you mentioning analog :?
I think this is a key point. Not much room for "analogue warmth" in chiptune land. What you probably want is something with colourful DACs rather than an analogue filter.

It's not analogue but the Monomachine can sound very NES or SID like.
The ESQ and SQ80 have 8-bit digital waves and analog filters
Yes. That's why I suggested them. I was referring to the Monomachine not having any analogue components.

Re: Gear Trading Thread

Thinking about trading my MK2 Monomachine for some Waldorf wavetables. Preferably a Microwave 1 or XT. Could even be swayed to a Blofeld keys.
Also have a Mirage DSK which I would consider swapping for some other crusty digital. (SY22, TG33 etc)

In Tasmania, Australia.

Re: Korg Mini MS-20

That would depend entirely on your source material and settings on the MS.

Re: Korg Mini MS-20

With the external processor, could you sing or play a different instrument in and get the synth to follow the sound? Like if you knew a guitar player or vocalist, could they write a solo by singing or playing that the synth would perform? I imagine so but I haven't seem anything like it on YouTube....

Yeah I don't quite understand that either.
Awave is listing it at $799. It's like they forgot the US exchange rate is still pretty much 1:1.
