Re: Things you've bought in a car boot sale/ garage sale
I've had great luck with old tape machines. I found a perfect condition Uher 4400 field recorder for $5 and a my Akai GXC-310d which is the best sounding cassette player I've heard for $10. I'm yet to find an AKS amongst a pile of old suitcases though. :) Edit: Ah c**p, I didn't realise I was zombif...

If anyone's interested in what a relatively clean demo of the Evolver sounds like.

It's funny, I'd never come across the common loon preset until tonight.
PS. Try not to giggle too hard at my keyboard skills.

Re: Roland MC-500 Seq. woes and general confusion
It's definitely a top sequencer. You definitely need the manual to get the most out of it though. Who would suspect it actually has really good TR style rhythm program section? What message does it actually give you when you try to boot up the disks? It does seem most likely to be the disk drive as ...

Re: The ETI/Maplin Update
89 actually! Argh! Unfortunately the chances of them turning up after ~5 years in the basement at the Alanvale TAFE are looking a bit slim. Besides I'd like some nicer knobs than the originals anyhoo. Maybe some garish EMS coloured ones? Would really complement the pooey brown and yellow panel colou...

Re: The ETI/Maplin Update
Well this has been a while since updates! Five years later and here's some new photos. :? http://www.flickr.com/photos/bamshoot/7137813047/in/set-72157601933280693/lightbox/ I might be actually able to work on it now after 2 years in the repair shop. I'd forgotten how massive the thing is! It seems ...

Re: Synth Repair Dilemma
Well that was easily sorted.
Not a mention of money when I picked it up. I guess I was probably freaking out a bit. They must have a conscience after all!
Thanks for the help anyway and sorry for such a dis-interesting thread.

Synth Repair Dilemma - No more!
Hi folks, Basically, I've had my ETI 4600 in the local electronics shop for repairs. I was quoted $300 just for the bloke to look at it which for some reason I agreed to. They've had it in the shop for nearly 2 years now and haven't done anything to it. He pulled out the PSU, decided he didn't want ...

Re: EMW-200
This should be a lot of fun if it's actually released. I've been jonesing for a 200 for ages but could never justify the price.
Add some old bakelite knobs and you're on a winner!
