Re: System 101 for modular gateway doooooom
Right! Well I think that rules out the 101 for now. I was hoping to use the keyboard as a controller for the modular but if it's prone to double triggering and needs attenuating I might hold off. I've always been more keen on SH-2's so maybe that would be a better idea and keep the modular a separat...

Re: System 101 for modular gateway doooooom
I've got the manual for the 101 but it's written in a way that seems to focus more on showing you how to recreate trumpets than basic "this input does x, this plug controls y".
Thanks, my 2am blind search didn't reveal much as I was searching System 100 not System 101!

System 101 for modular gateway doooooom
Question #10652: I'm pondering the modular path and wondering about using the Roland System 101 as a basis for a small euro system. I like the idea of having the vintage sound and feel of the 101 but having the extra functionality of an extra oscillator (or 4 or 5), envelope, midi-cv, step sequencer...

Micron UI vs CZ1000 UI
Yep, this has nothing to do with sound comparisons. Just wondering after hearing about people disliking the Micron interface, how it compares to something older and button-clicky like the CZ's. I hear people complaining about editing sounds on the CZ's too but I think they're a piece o' piss. So, ho...

Re: Synthi still made?
Apparently, 2011 is the year when it's all going to get rolling. But I think that's happened a few times now already.
edit: Oops, beat me to it.

Re: K1/TG-33 -esque softsynths?
Wavestation and a bitcrusher? I think it only costs $50 these days. While that is actually an entirely logical option, it would be cool to find something that used some form of 12-bit sample as its base. I actually have a k1r now, but really can't be bothered to program it. If I get some room in a ...

Re: Future Retro XS
So would I in theory be able to route the oscillators out to an external filter and route it back in using the envelopes and bypass the filter completely if so desired?
I'm thinking mixing it with the TipTop SSM filter could be a small bundle of fun.

Re: MS2000 vs Prophet 08
Well aside from this, I've decided to go with the MS2000 for the time bean. It should be an improvement regardless mehopes.
Thanks everyone for their advice and entertainment.

Cool!
I'd be quite interested to hear some demo's if it's not too much hassle for you. Sounds tres exciting.

Re: MS2000 vs Prophet 08
Yep, I'm thinking so too.
Now all I need is to get my 4600 fixed up so I can sell it's a*s and buy something less behemothian.
Thanks for the input, chaps.

Re: MS2000 vs Prophet 08
I do like the sound of the AN1x but I'm looking for something in module form to sit on the big blank panel on my Mirage. Space is at a premium right now! I suppose I could look at the AN200 but I don't like the limited interface, sequencer and needing to access the computer to get amongst it all. Th...

Re: MS2000 vs Prophet 08
Thanks for the reply. This is a purchase where I'm not fooling myself into thinking that it'll actually make my music or creativity any better. I'm just after some easy to use knobby fun after only having a CZ-1000 and Mirage in my hardware setup. I think the multimode filters, basic wave sequencing...

MS2000 vs Prophet 08
Argh! I know these threads are evil but some opinions here would really help me out. I'm in the mood for a polyphonic synth with a built in mod sequencer that's as close as one knob-per-function as possible. These two tick most of the boxes, I'm just wondering how people think they stack up. I'm NOT...
