Thanks for the pity. I needed that.

Portability in regard to battery power. Offhand, I don't remember. I'd be just the kind of schmo to take a 49 anyplace with a clean floor. Wish they made a 37.

49 or 61 would probably be good for gigs.

Oh, yeah. If the aftertouch is anything like the KS4... Nice.

I have a KS4 & really like it. I can +1 the novation direction. The X-Station is like the ultimate synth. If I were to have only one, that's the first one I'd consider. I'm considering selling the KS4 to put toward the X, 'cause I could use an all in one solution from time to time. USB & MIDI KS Syn...

I had a good fiddle on a Nord 2 last weekend and although nice I found it a little basic and not a patch on my AN1X. I'd perhaps keep the Virus and get maybe a Q or XT instead. If you're getting the Ion just to sell later for something else don't bother cos getting the time and experience in to fin...

Yo man why do you need so many VA's? Surely getting something a little different would perhaps be a wiser move? :-s Well, this is phase one. A Nord is supposed to be a good compliment to the Virus. Being the ion is touted as such a good VA, I figured that would be a good interim step. Considering m...

I'm still building my modest setup. I'm into the Thomas Dolby concept of a 3 synth (+ drums) rig. This was mentioned elsewhere. I'm trying to go with that concept to feel better about my small budget. My best way of staying within my means is to buy broken gear that I think I can repair or "customiz...

That's been the case for the last year+. "Coming 2-3 months from now." As the new date approaches, it gets pushed back.

Thanks Maschinengeist. I'll have a look. Would there be any visible signs? When I tried to trace the circuit the first time I had the unit open, I didn't see anything blatant in any components. Is there anything I should look for, or any suggestions as to how to test the components? Also, if anybody...

Need help with my Casio RZ-1

Just got this unit two weeks ago, and it needs some medical attention. The guy who sold it to me agreed to discount it if I wanted to keep and fix it. I made a couple of the repairs, but the main issue still remains. The problem is that the output level for the HiHats doesn't come close to the level...

It may not be listed on the retailers site or in the catalogs but I am certain the Ion is not out of production. There are some long backorder issues, likely due to a lack of parts to make the Ion. I heard demand for the Ion was so great Alesis had trouble keeping up with the demand. But Alesis def...

I look at it like a rock band. In a four piece you might have 2 guitarists, a bassist and a drummer. Bands (usually) use the same gear for each song. The only difference is the effects for each of the string instruments. Drums are always the same. That has seemed to work for quite a long time. Each ...

I think you can look at a few different options. I don't have much experience with specific gear, but depending on how you want to work, here are a few things you can do: First, I'm sure someone here can help with cheap or even free DAW Software (Digital Audio Workstation). I don't know much about t...

I'm going with the story of removing her limbs to save her life. I can cope with that thought. It's funny to see this, because while completely dismantling my KS4 to try and repair some major key bed damage, I spotted the control panel lying on the floor separate from the rest of itself. My first th...

I couldn't help but notice that A.F.I. souded like there were tons of synths, but no rig in sight. What's up with that?
