Re: Analogue Solutions Leipzig? Telemark?

the quality of the Analogue Solutions sound is in a different league to DSI stuff...although Ive heard the actual build can be a bit shakey...but the VCO sound great if a bit 'tight' and the envelopes sound great...the Sub Osc on the Leipzig sounds phat as h**l and has that fantastic clangerous tone...

Analogue Solutions Leipzig? Telemark?

Very little chat about this synth. But actually I think for features it looks pretty reasonable - discrete components 2 VCO with Sub Osc and a decent serving of Modulation options...Are there any owners out there? All I can see is a few reviews... What is the general consensus of Analogue Solutions ...

Re: Tom Oberheim SEM or Future Retro XS

Of the two synths mentioned, given your other gear and not knowing your sonic goals exactly, I'd likely go with the SEM. sorry i should have been more explicit about the flavour im looking for. id like something, rounder, softer and warmer than either the ms20 or pro one. they cover me for aggressi...

I would take a punt at that price - but probably try to get him down a bit...

Re: Moog Source vs Yamaha CS15

On detail; I heard that you need 2 cv/gate to midi convertors to control both oscillators. But maybe there's a trick to avoid this... You can just use a 1>2 (split) 1/4" cable, coming from one converter. Thats awesome I had wondered if this would work or whether if it would cause some sort of probl...

Moog Source vs Yamaha CS15

I currently have a Moog Source. I kind of love it but it is quite limited - and Ive now been tempted by the idea of a CS15 and swapping it. Why? The extra knobs, the multimode filters, fast LFO, Non-obvious Moog sound... However my concern is that the CS15 doesnt have so much bass as the Source... A...

Re: Audio Interfaces

huge range available - worth spending money on but diminishing returns once you get over £1500...

Budget interfaces worth it IMO:

TC Konnekt range
Focusrite Saffire range
RME Fireface range
Apogee Duet (great if you only need 2 I/O)

Re: Minimoog vs SE 1

Digging up old threads AND even a reply from the op!!!! liked my se1x didn't like the awkward menu editing for important values, really slows programming down to a snail pace. why have knobby mono synth thats the pits to edit? hwich is why it got sold in the end. its own character aside from the mi...

Re: Minimoog vs SE 1

Its been 3 years since I asked this question!

Well I did get an SE1x in the end and didnt like it. Too slow and fat. I now have a Moog Source and love it.

Re: MFB Nanozwerg, Urzwerg, Microzwerg & Megazwerg

I dunno - the Osc on MFB do seem quite Moog like...and the filter bears a small resemblance to the Moog LP...but the MFB sound is dirtier/more gritty and doesnt sound as pure or pretty than a Moog. Well - I'll know soon when I get my Kraftzwerg and can compare to my Source.... I agree tho on the Nep...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Just wanted to add that I was about to purchase a patch-panel SEM from audiomidi when I realized something: The patch-panel version lacks any easy way to have both filter key tracking and filter envelope modulation together and have different levels for each. Also, it appears that the patch-panel v...

Re: MFB Nanozwerg, Urzwerg, Microzwerg & Megazwerg

Ultimately it's all down to personal taste, but surely no-one thinks you can glean a well-rounded and accurate impression (positive or negative) of a synth's overall sound/capabilities based on a few minutes' worth of crap-fi YouTube video? That is of course very true. The sound on the demo vids I ...

Re: MFB Nanozwerg, Urzwerg, Microzwerg & Megazwerg

looks fun - but does not sound that beautiful to me....not high end analogue-perhaps I should not have spoken so soon above...but definitely a useful addition to a set-up at a bargain price...I will be getting a Kraftzwerg and possibly team it with a Microzwerg...

Re: MFB Nanozwerg, Urzwerg, Microzwerg & Megazwerg

I 'm really curious to hear what that multimode filter sounds like... Same here. There's certainly a lot of sonic mangling potential in this little box & the filter set-up should work wonders with this. The Microzwerg has already taken pole position on my gear lust most wanted list ;) look out MFB ...
