Re: Rozzbox V.2 Discontinued

The Rozzbox was cool but I think he tried to squeeze too many features under one hood especially with the small interface it had.

The Oddulator looks like the best of the Rozz in a streamlined package.

Re: Technical discussion of DSI synths and their DCO pop

I've just bought a MEK for cheap...... :o

but I think this minuscule glitch really doesn't make a s**t bit of difference and won't be noticed in 99.9% of the sounds it can do. :)

No synth is perfect.

Has anyone modded an MC202 for accent on decay & filter env?

Would be as easy as cross wiring the accent output to the slider terminal with a variable resistor to fine tune or is it more complicated than that? Basically I want the MC202 to do the same with the accent as a 303 which affects the env amount decay and amp at the same time. Anyone tried this? :?

Re: Do you aknowledge the importance of dance music

Electronic dance music is a broad set of percussive music genres that largely inherit from 1970s disco music and, to some extent, the experimental pop music of Kraftwerk. Considering most of today's "dance" music that I hear is thumpa-thumpa repetitive tat with supersaw leads and vocals samples on ...

Re: Do you aknowledge the importance of dance music

I've got Silver Apples, Tonto Rdies Again and I'm partial to a bit of Jarre and 'Berlin School' here and there, heck I was into that well before dance music had matured to that level. I was the geek at high school with the state of the art Walkman and chrome Jarre cassttes when everyone else was get...

Re: BOSS DR-660?

I wouldn't take Squarepushers use as a reason for buying as at the time this was most likely a big part of the very little he had to use and although he somehow managed to squeeze granular synthesis from one the overall tone is very much aimed at a backing track for a rock band rather than upfront d...

Re: Do you aknowledge the importance of dance music

Modern day Rap and R&B have nicked more loops and rhythms from dance/electro music than anything else and other other big commercial acts by their very nature aren't pioneering sound design in any way as they just throw lots of money to the cream of the dance crowd e.g. William Orbit, BT, Oakenfold ...

Re: Do you aknowledge the importance of dance music

ROTFL =D> It's all in your perspective I guess. The primary influences to EDM that I hear are: 1. DISCO informing the rhythm, harmony and melody 2. 70s/80s synth sounds informing the sound design I don't hear much innovation in the synth sounds themselves (how many ways can you filter a sawtooth af...
