they are all good but completely different. abouth the only thing they have in common is that they all reduce frequency content. The AS, Sherman and Mutronics units have lots of mod options. The Sherman is EVIL! no good for house filter sweeps but excellent at screwing audio up especially if you ha...

Opinions on these external analogue filter units?

Does anyone own and/or have any opinions on these external analogue filter units?

AS Filtered Coffee
MAM Warp 9
Fat THC Resinator (or MAM)
Sherman 1&2
Mutronics Mutator

Does anyone know of any other decent external filter units out there too?

A bit of topic but I was messing around with an Oberhiem Cyclone last night which can do some pretty unusual stuff like individual key velocity accenting.
Whilst we’re here does anyone know of any chord progression type software preferably as a MIDI fx plugin or Dxi/VST?

You'd be mad to buy any CPU based 80's gear unless you're a serious collector. You cannot find the parts for these synths anymore unless you find a scrapper to salvage. Obsolete gear like old samplers are more hassle than they’re worth so you’d have to be a serious collector to bother in my mind.

XP, Sonar 3.1, Arturia Moog Modular V.2, FM7 are all paid for which is the software I mainly use anyway. I won’t say I don’t have any copied stuff on my HD but I rarely use any of it as the MMV and FM7 cover most ground for me and take a while to get into, I think I must be compelled to use them mor...

so it wouldn't be a stretch to say that, if I really want to get into sound design while just using my laptop... I should get Reaktor 5? (how is it on the cpu and ram usage? and is it easy to quickly go through sounds you've created, etc) And should I be fine with Sempron 2800+ 1gig RAM? Because I ...

I remember when buying my monomachine was crazy...I couldn't believe I was spending $1300 on a synth....the only thing I bought that expensive before was a few cars, an education, and a few computers. However, once I got it...I realized that making laptop music was ok...but hardware was alot funner...
