the thing about sequencers like the MC-500 is the lack of a 16-step grid for drum programming. also, only 5 tracks is pretty limited. the MMT-8 gives you 8 tracks with mute control but no grid programming. grooveboxes like the MC-909 are really superior in this area because of the TR-REC grid mode ...

If you use your motif for acoustic emulation type stuff you'll not replace it with the RS, synth sounds; maybe, don't know the motif. If I were to guess I'd say the synth in the RS is probably more comparable to the CS2X than the motif (That's just from looks at the specs, so don't take my word for ...

Yes the pcm sounds are a GM bank, it's in the sonic state video. Now the questions is, how much of that 64 polyphony is the VA and how much of it is the GM bank? If the VA is 64 voices, why would you need 64 voices on a 37 key monotimbral VA? Even if each of those "synth parts" they mention takes a ...
