Re: Korg Triton

The Triton series is awesome. There are quite a few people out there who pan it, but it fits a niche in most setups. It's one of the best pad machines out there. It's "real" instruments aren't that bad either. I also have a Yamaha Motif ES and did a side-by-side comparison and to my ears, they compl...

Re: New Moog???

A Red Korg Karma (which is red) with a black sticker saying "moog" ain't no new moog. A Karma doesn't have a large screen. It's my guess that if you look at all the photos of the band in the above post, they change keyboards allot. The one photo looks like a Triton, but the photo I posted, most lik...

Re: New Moog???

Now that photo lends credence to the theory he's putting a Moog label on a different synth because that photo looks like a Triton with a Moog sticker on it. It also doesn't look like the same synth in the picture I posted. Hmmm....

clip of the performance, maybe it's just some keyboard with a moog sticker on it? Could be but I doubt it. DSI seemed to hint that it's new... http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/news/index.php#08_end If so, maybe a Nord with a Moog sticker? I would think that there would be some ticked off people ...

New Moog???

Hey, I was just over at the DSI web site reading their latest update. There's a blurb about the MoFo being seen on the David Letterman Show. More interesting was what DSI called the "Mystery Moog". Anyone have any more info on it? Here's a photo... http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/images/terris1....

Re: thinking about buying a yamaha dx7 on ebay..help?

"NR" means "NO RESERVE". In an auction, sometimes the seller puts a minimum amount at which he will sell it at (Reserve). No reserve means if someone bids a penny and doesn't get out bid, He/She gets it for a penny. "NJ" I've never seen this one before. Maybe it's location.. New Jersey? Everything Y...

Re: Rhodes pianos and Mellotrons and stuff...

I have a Rhodes Mark I that I got for free because a school was tossing it lol. If you check classified ads you can find people almost giving these things away sometimes because they just think it's some old junk. Lots of software packages do a very decent Rhodes- I like the way Lounge Lizard sound...

Re: Rhodes pianos and Mellotrons and stuff...

It should be noted that there's a huge difference between an electronic organ and a tone wheel organ like the infamous Hammond B3. They also work on completely different principles.

Re: Rhodes pianos and Mellotrons and stuff...

I'm not sure I understand the question, but a Rhodes and a Mellotron are not synths or electronic organs. A Rhodes is a piano which uses tines as a sound source. Tines are little metal posts with a small wire wrapped around it. Like a piano, a hammer hits the thine and it vibrates. There's an electr...

Re: New Andromeda A6 video demos on Gearwire

All do respect, but if you had so many constraints on putting together a review of a product, then I say don't do the review. It's counter productive. It will tend to effect your reputation by repeatedly giving uninformed reviews and lend to these types of responses. I've seen better product reviews...

Re: Software/midi question??? Help!

What you are experiencing is called "LAG". If your VST isn't configured correctly, you will experience lots of it. It most likely has nothing to do with memory. What type of audio interface are you using? In any event, check to make sure you are using an ASIO interface driver as opposed to DirectX. ...

So, do you have a question??? We can't respond to generalities and a personal history lesson. What do you want to know?

Re: New Andromeda A6 video demos on Gearwire

Man, after watching these videos, I think they would only serve to confuse the viewer than instruct. He tries to describe basic synthesis functions but has the synth set up in a manner that doesn't help in the description. He's trying to describe oscillator functions but has the modulation and chord...

Re: Korg MS2000 vs Analog options

The Evolver is nice too, but remember that it's a mono synth. At least the MS4K has 4 voices.

Hey Neonlights84,

long time no see!!! In case you're wondering... your An1x is doing fine!!

How you liking the LP so far?

On Topic...

The P'08 is great too, bu the MS2k actually has more features. The sound of the P'08 is 10000 times better than the MS2K though.
