Technology is BAD, people! BADDD! I've had to drop it all for the most part and back away .. slowly. (not technology.. lol) true, i'm missing out on a few good ideas and things, but the signal to noise ratio is so high, i've had to opt out for the sake of my sanity. I refuse to get caught up in the...

I think some people have to remember the difference between composition and process. In these delightful post-modern times, process is as important, sometimes more important, than the output. Since the music is all rehash no matter what, it becomes very important to the maker (and, we wish, the lis...

That's true of anything though, especially regarding the electronic styles or experimental. Which is why I have nothing to say either.. but you have to admit that after the initial experimentation a sound or sounds were "coined" as it were which leads to genreficitation. That's the simple evoloution...

I only use it for bass really. I leave the filter wide open and use the lower octaves (obviously) when im using the squares. When you hit unison, it pays to have a modded filter. But then I again, I love the low fi rrrrrrrrawwwwwwwwwwwrrrr sound too much to use it lol

They had alot of english made synths.. mostly synthi.. putney and VCS3. theres no reason wh y they wouldn't have had a modular.. I dont happen to know what it was though, if they did indeed had one.

But you can quote pighood and say in good faith that you know now that they had a jp8000.

Not a fan of fat goth chicks in bad Victorian garb? *sigh* replace "victorian garb" with "99 cent store witch costume".. but that was dregs of yesteryear.. I mean all the rag doll haired, pvc mini dresses, huge boots, googgled attention whores with myspace pages and naughty *tee hee* websites. I ca...

cause were old and bitter. combichrist sucks, goggles suck.. But seriously.. I miss the diversity. I miss how you could go out and hear alternative, techno, goth and industrial all in the same night. Now it's just sort of a lousy rave where the music never changes and all the girls have bought the s...

Nobody seems to like Front 242's up evil album, But to me, its by far the best 242 and the best example of what the EBM / industrial sound is. Tragedy 4 U coming in a close second. I wonder when rebellion and individuality are going to come back into vogue... It just seems to me these days everythin...

Still 10-15 years later I can't see how thats called synth pop. It's more like trance where everything happens on the 8s and it's all 4x4. It's just slowed down trance without the hooks, breakdowns and other stuff.

Not knocking it.. im just saying.. I dont think the term means what it is..

how are petshop boys house? True, there was a dance floor aspect to the later new wave stuff, and I love it myself, but I think it predated house, and that was one of houses later successes, mixing the dancefloor synthpop.

New wave also kicks a*s.

Predator really nails alot of the synth lines, at least the japanese juno ish ones.

in general I'd go with a korg ddd1 or yamaha RX5 drum machine and any old rompler. wavestation and d50 come to mind first.
